“What are we looking at?” I jumped and almost hit the person that snuck up behind me.
“s**t!” I shouted when I turned to see Maria “What are you doing here?” I asked in a hushed voice, looking back at the ladies and wondering how she was there when I saw her standing there a second ago.
“What are you doing here?” She returned the question. She had both hands on her hips and glared at me playfully.
“What? Me! I was.. Ehm.. I was just checking around the house to see if everything was okay”. I scratched the back of my head as I explained.
