Marlin always believed that true love meant honesty, trust, and staying together through everything.

Then she met Beth.

What began as an innocent meeting slowly turned into a beautiful friendship, and before Marlin realized it, she had fallen deeply in love with him.

Beth knew exactly how to make her smile.

He knew exactly what to say when she was sad.

He promised that he would never leave her.

He made her believe that she was the only girl who mattered to him.

But there was one problem…

Beth was pretending.

While Marlin was giving him her heart, Beth was hiding the truth behind his sweet words and perfect smile.

To Marlin, their love was real.

To Beth, it was only a game.

She believed every promise.

She trusted every word.

She imagined a future with the person she thought would always protect her heart.

But sometimes, the person you trust the most is the person who knows exactly how to hurt you.

When Marlin finally discovers Beth’s true intentions, her entire world begins to fall apart.

Will she forgive him?

Will Beth regret playing with her heart?

Or will Marlin finally find the strength to walk away from the person she once believed was her forever?

A story of love, trust, lies, betrayal, heartbreak, and the painful journey of learning that not everyone who says “I love you” truly means it.

"Beautiful lies" Ep 1
Beautiful Lies Episode 1 — The First Lie Marlin had always believed that love was supposed to feel safe. She believed in honest words, late-night conversations, little promises, and the kind of love that stayed even when things became difficult. She had never been the type of girl who fell easily. But then she met Beth. It happened on an ordinary evening. Marlin was sitting alone in a small café near her university, quietly reading a book while waiting for her friend. She didn't notice the rain outside. She didn't notice the people coming and going. Until someone accidentally bumped into her table. Her coffee nearly fell onto her book. “Oh, I'm sorry,” a deep voice said. Marlin looked up. For a moment, she forgot what she was about to say. Beth was standing in front of her. He looked embarrassed, but there was a small smile on his face. “I really didn't mean to do that.” Marlin quickly moved her book away. “It's okay. Nothing happened.” Beth looked at the empty chair across from her. “Can I make it up to you?” Marlin raised an eyebrow. “How?” “A new coffee?” She smiled slightly. “You already have coffee.” Beth looked down at his cup and laughed. “Then I'll buy you dessert.” “I don't even know you.” “That's true.” He smiled again. “Maybe we should fix that.” Marlin didn't know why, but something about the way he said it made her smile. “I'm Marlin.” “Beth.” That was how it began. A simple introduction. A simple smile. And a simple lie that Marlin wouldn't understand until much later. Over the next few weeks, Beth started appearing everywhere. At the café. Outside the university. Near the library. Sometimes he would send her a message before she even reached home. Good morning, beautiful. Marlin would stare at those words for a few seconds before smiling. She slowly became used to him. Used to his messages. Used to his voice. Used to having someone who asked if she had eaten. One evening, Beth called her. “Marlin?” “Hmm?” “Are you free tonight?” “Why?” “I want to see you.” She smiled. “You saw me this morning.” “That was hours ago.” “So?” “So I missed you.” Marlin laughed softly. “You're impossible.” “Maybe.” There was silence for a moment. Then Beth said quietly, “I think I'm falling for you.” Marlin's smile disappeared. Her heart suddenly began beating faster. “Beth…” “I know it's fast.” “It is.” “But I don't want to lie to you.” Marlin looked down. “Then don't.” Beth smiled on the other side of the call. “I like you, Marlin. More than I should.” She closed her eyes. Those words were everything she wanted to hear. And she believed every single one of them. A few days later, Beth asked her to meet him at the same café where they had first met. When Marlin arrived, Beth was already waiting. There was something different about him that evening. He looked nervous. She sat across from him. “What's wrong?” “Nothing.” “Beth, I know you.” He smiled. “You've known me for only a few weeks.” “Long enough.” Beth reached across the table and gently held her hand. “Marlin, I don't want this to be temporary.” Her heart skipped. “What do you mean?” “I want you in my life.” She stared into his eyes. “Are you serious?” “Completely.” Marlin squeezed his hand. “I am too.” Beth smiled. But behind that smile was something Marlin couldn't see. Something he didn't want her to see. His phone suddenly vibrated. Beth quickly turned it face down. Marlin noticed. “Who was that?” “No one.” She smiled. “Your phone seems to disagree.” Beth laughed. “It's nothing important.” Marlin trusted him. That was her biggest mistake. Because while she was sitting there believing every word he said, Beth was hiding another conversation. A conversation with someone else. Someone who knew the real reason he had approached Marlin. Later that night, Marlin received a message from Beth. Sleep well. Don't forget that you're the most important person in my life. She smiled and replied: You are important to me too. Beth looked at her message. For a moment, guilt crossed his face. Then another message appeared on his phone. Are you getting closer to her? Beth stared at the screen. His fingers slowly moved across the keyboard. Yes. She trusts me completely. The reply came almost immediately. Good. Don't fall in love with her. Beth stopped. His eyes remained fixed on those words. He didn't answer. Instead, he locked his phone and placed it on the table. Across town, Marlin was lying in bed, smiling at the last message Beth had sent her. She believed she had finally found someone who would never hurt her. She didn't know that the person she trusted most had already started building a beautiful lie around her. And Beth didn't know one thing either. The more time he spent with Marlin… the harder it was becoming to remember why he had lied to her in the first place. Because somewhere between the fake smiles… the fake promises… and the fake love… something real had begun. And that frightened him more than anything. The next morning, Marlin woke up with a strange feeling in her heart. She checked her phone, hoping to see a message from Beth. Finally, her phone vibrated. One message appeared on her screen. Good morning, beautiful. Marlin smiled. She had no idea that those three words were hiding the biggest secret of her life.
