Raton’s POV
That afternoon, I sat in my grandfather’s living room, watching him as he walked closer to me, his shoes clicking against the marble floor. I could feel the tension that covered the atmosphere before he opened his mouth to speak.
“This has taken more than I expected, Raton. What are your plans?” He asked, finding a couch to sit on.
I didn’t respond, instead, I raised my head like I was welcoming him in.
“Valerie has to cut ties with Modern Luxury Home.” He snapped.
“Yes,” I replied almost immediately. “But she isn’t just going to walk away because we have asked her to. She feels this is her opportunity to show her worth.”
“You have to make her,” he replied. “And besides, we don’t need her to show her worth. She is going to become a member of this family for a purpose
