The Prince

I turned and started heading to the north edge of the territory where the Alpha last saw the Prince. It only took me about 2 minutes to get to a vantage point where I could see the whole north side of the battle; yet was still hidden in the trees, it was a blood bath the say the least. bodies strewn across the grass tore in half or so mangled you could barely make out what they were.

I caught sight of my father's Beta Christoph fighting off 3 rogues near the coffee shop. Within a minute all 3 were lifeless on the ground. Suddenly Christoph dropped to his knees and released a pained howl into the sky. My eyes followed his to the left and noticed the Beta female, his mate, being thrown around by a couple rogues.

Christoph was on his feet and running to his mate faster than I've seen anybody move. Three of our warriors saw him and joined in the pursuit. Once they intercepted the rogues Christoph took his mate while the warriors dealt with the rogues.

While the pack was clearly being overrun with rogues Jazmine knew she needed to focus on her mission and allow everybody to do the same.

Jazmine took a deep calming breath to center herself and allow Katara to come forward.

"Katara we must find James and escape to the safe house. I'm sure he's hiding somewhere near us, but my human nose can't pick up his scent"

"Okay J. Let me take control and we'll find him"

Jazmines emerald eyes begin to glow as Katara takes over. She can sense everything around her within 100 yards. All the animals, the plants, the wolves, the wind, and the bugs. Jazmine and Katara have know eachother for 3 years so far and grow closer every day training together to merge their minds and senses.

Katara extends the claws in her hands and uses them to slide herself down to the base of the tree. She raises her nose in the air trying to locate her brother's scent of fresh dew and mint. His scent is faint but it's there.

"J he's hiding in the library under the desk. Hes not injured yet but J... rogues and closing in. I think they know he's inside"

"Thank you Katara" With that Jazmine took control back and began sprinting as fast as her legs could to the library. Within a minute the library was in her sights just as 4 rogues approached from the side all eyes on the building protecting the prince.

"J we can probably take one of them but that's all. We haven't trained enough"

"Katara I am fully prepared to die if it means protecting my brother" With that Jazmine stripped off her baggy t-shirt and Jean's. She focused on how Katara looked and began to feel the air swirl around here.

Suddenly there stood a creature much smaller than most wolves with fur as dark as night, glowing green eyes the color of pure emeralds, and claws sharp as daggers

"Katara if we do this we do it quick before they noticed"

"got it" with that Katara crouched down and began stalking the wolf closest to her. While the rogue was distracted watching his partners approach the building Katara used it as her opportunity. She bolted towards the rogue jumping into the air and landed on top of it with her claws sunk into the base of its neck.

She felt an exhilarating surge of power as the life drained from the rogues eyes. Three more to go.

The next rogue dropped with as little effort as the first, but once his body hit the ground the other two turned around noticing the small black wolf ontop of their friend.

Before the two rogues could act Katara saw Sage (the Lunas wolf) bolt between them forcing the rogues to back up.

"Katara there is an open window in the back. I will hold these rogues while you go save the Prince. Please hurry"

J could see the fear in her mothers wolf and decided it best to listen instead of fighting. Katara turned and ran around the side of the building looking for the open window.

Jazmine shifted back and hoisted herself into the window being as quiet as possible.

"James! James! Come out its Jazzy. Dad told me where to find you." I whisper yelled knowing anybody outside could hear me due to their wolf senses. Katara sniffed out the prince hiding in the ceiling tiles in the corner of the room.

"James I dont know how you got up there but Katara can smell you. I know you're scared but I need you to come out"

Slowly the tile began to move as the Prince came into Jazmines sight

"Jazzy what's happening?" James asked with tears in his eyes. J could see he'd been trying with his red, puffy eyes and swollen face.

"James I need you to breath and listen to me. okay?"

"okay" James sniffled

" The pack is fighting for our lives. You and I need to get outside and to the safe house. remember where the safe house is?"

James nods, "in the mountains by the lake"

"Exactly. Do you remember your job in an emergency?"

James nods again, "hide if I can, run if I have to. Survive at all cost"

"good. We leave together but if anything happens in the forest you run as far as you can and hide in the trees like I showed you. Itll make it harder for the rogues to find your scent. Understand?"

"Understood Alpha!" James sniffled and gave me his best salute.

"ColdRose pack I located the prince! Heading to the safe house now. Strength be with you ColdRose" With that I closed the mindlink. Dont need to be distracted now.
