THE MURDER WEAPON EPISODE THIRTEEN

3001 Words
After we were done with breakfast that we had in bits, I saw Waridi to the cab then went back to prepare for the meet up with Faruk before I met up with my employees later on. After the encounter I had with Nick, I had not seen or heard from him again and even though I knew he had other stuff planned against or for me, it wasn't going to stop me from bringing back the business on it's feet again. Reliable sources had told me that he was planning to start the same business and take off with all the clients which was very typical of employees who feel like they are way above the person who employed them. I treated Nick so well, paid him above everyone else and handled him differently from the way i did other employees..i trusted him with my Investments but if Judas could surely betray Jesus, who was ordinary man like Nick?.. One hour later I was in my sports car driving off to Faruk's office. The reason why I didn't tell Waridi I was going to see Faruk was so that I could find out if it was true that she had resigned. If she hadn't I would definitely bump into her there. don't get me wrong, i wasn't mistrusting Waridi but i was being extra careful. Delilah was used fo being down Samson and maybe this was the case too, maybe Faruk realized he could not easily get to me so he decided to go through Waridi but the thing is, i had my eyes on them.. Before I got to the club I called Renee to check on her and she told me she had been arrested the previous night and had spent the night at the police station. that did not cone as a shock because if she was the only one living woth Rosemary yet she was poisoned, she sure had to be taken in and get questioned. she mentioned the arrest on a lighter note and so I promised to check on her before the day ended since she told me she had already been freed from police custody. I parked my car at one of the reserved slots then tucked my gun behind, put on my jacket and left for the club ready for everything Faruk gad planned for me. i didn't trust him and i didn't trust the bit where the DCI were looking for us. faruk could use any tactics to get to me but i was ready for him. ELSEWHERE Waridi got to her place and found Clark waiting for her in his car. Clark had left immediately Faruk got back to the club having told him that he had sone issues he needed to take care of. Faruk was an easy guy to the people he trusted abd one person he could allow to mond his business was ckark because he knew he would not double cross him or set him up for any reason. Clark had not stopped trying her phone the whole day and it went straight to voicemail so he thought he should just wait for her knowing where she had been the whole night. When he saw her approach he got out of his car and leaned on it waiting for her to get closer enough. Waridi: hey you, Clark: hey he said moving in for a hug that Waridi innocently gave. Waridi: what are you doing here? Clark: I came to check on you. Your phone was off. Waridi: was there something urgent you needed to discuss with me? Clark: well, I heard about your resignation, is it true? Waridi: yeah, what's the big deal about my resignation, people resign everyday don't they? she sounded upset, maybe she was taking out the fact that Rahim didn't trust him with information on him but was it his fault?.. Clark: wow! are you okay?.. waridi: I'm fine. she looked away from his gaze. Clark: so, who is this lucky guy, is it true that it's because you are getting married to someone? Waridi looked at him then walked past him towards the door, she opened it and he followed her inside even though she did not ask him to come in. Waridi: what if am getting married, what's the big deal. Am tired of being a w***e like everyone else sees me. I'm tired of making my money by stripping for men who have families to go back to.. they probably just see me the same way. Clark: I don't see you like that waridi and you shouldn't see yourself like that too. he said moving closer to her but she took steps away from him and threw her hands in the air.. Waridi: does it even matter? She had thrown her handbag on the floor and Clark picked it and put it on the seat as she walked to the fridge to get herself some water then she joined Clark in the living room. She took off her shoes as Clark sat there watching her trying to figure out what had gotten her so worked up. Clark: it does matter because I care about you but you are too blind to notice. You have your attention focused elsewhere. she stopped drinking the water and gazed at him. Waridi: Clark you can't feel that way about me. Clark: why, am I not a man like he is? Waridi: okay, I'm not doing this with you right now, I have heard enough and as ot is, I'm not in the mood to entertain this talk please leave. Clark: what? Waridi: am serious, just go for now, I can't hold this conversation with you. She walked to the door and opened it. she then waited for him to get up and get out. Clark walked to the door looked at her one more time before he walked out without saying a word even though it seemed like he had alot if things to say to her. The first time i went to the club, Faruk and i had an open conversation with his strippers a over us and we never went to his office. when i entered the club, I was shown to faruk's office and his guys walked out the moment I walked in. Faruk offered me a seat but as usual I wouldn't have any drinks with him for obvious reasons because regardless of what we had in common, I still considered him an enemy and I had to be very alert around him. Faruk: it's good you showed up.. Me: what does the DCI know or rather what do they know about us? Faruk: I don't know what they know but they arrested Renee last night and according to her they have been tailing us and they know every move we have been making. They have photos of us arguing in the hospital and they seem to think that we had something to do with Rosemary's death. Me: why, I mean we have been laying low unless you have been making careless moves shooting people at night and blackmailing others for it. i have not given the cops a reason to suspect me for anything. He stopped leaning back on his chair and sat up. Faruk: I have not been involved in any shady businesses since Duke's death. I think they are just being paranoid. Me: are they? Faruk: look man, I know you might think am the enemy but right now am not.If I framed you it's because you were being difficult to deal with but i have nothing to do with this. I have an idea. Me: shoot, I'm listening. Faruk: if the DCI are after us it's because they are probably building a case against us and maybe, just Maybe someone is feeding them information. what if we join forces and take some of these guys out of the equation before they narrow us down and take us out like they did with your boss and your crew?. Me: you want us to kill the cops, that's lighting a fire on our asses that would never go off anytime soon. we don't know what they know and we don't know who they are using to get to us. Faruk: you have a better idea? Me: No, but am not involving myself in another crime with you. Who knows you might just sell me out to save your ass should the worse come to the worst. Faruk got up and paced inside his office then nervously looked out the window and shortly after took his seat again. I wasn't sure of what was going on in his head but from the nervousness I could tell that something was bothering him. Either he had some shady businesses that went down and the officers found out or I was just being paranoid as well. Me: there's something you are not telling me Faruk. What is it? Faruk: The night Dukes died, somebody else saw what went down and I don't know how they found my number but I have been getting threats. he finally let it out accompanied by a long sigh. Me: wait, what...threats? Faruk: somebody knows we killed Dukes. Me: no no, you killed Dukes. I was holding a gun that never went off remember, the gun didn't go off because I never pulled the trigger I can replay the whole thing for you incase you forgot what really happened. he did not say a word on that but git the table so hard that I'm sure he hurt his hand. Faruk: We are f****d up either way. Me: is the person issuing the threat a lady? Faruk: yeah how do you know that? Me: because she did the same to me the first few days. Her name is Myra and she lived next door to my house. She confronted me telling me she knew I killed Dukes then disappeared just like that. i have never been able to tell her whereabouts but i threatened to kill her if she didn't mind her own business.. Faruk: she asked for 2.5 M to keep her mouth shut and I organized for the money and she is the one who picked the drop off point. I had my men on Stand by with orders to kill whoever went to get the money. Me: and? Faruk: my guys killed the guy and that provoked the lady. She has been calling crazy shots lately and she is the reason we are being followed. Me: what do you mean by she is the reason we are being followed? Faruk: an anonymous call was made to the police telling them that Renee was keeping a company of dangerous guys who deal drugs and her house operated as the main center where all the illegalities took place. When she realized Renee was set free she made a call and told me to wait for her communication today. she said her next move will make me so mad. That's why am so nervous. Everything I was hearing was quite crazy, why did Myra decide to stop coming after me and go after Faruk instead? I got up from the seat and stood there with my eyes fixed on him. It was obvious Faruk needed me but was I just going to forget everything he did and just help clear his mess? Faruk; what are you thinking man, I need to know you will back me up. Me: no, you are in this alone. Myra is coming after you because she knows you are the one who killed Dukes not me. You will have to clean that mess on your own. you should be able to deal with the consequences of your actions on your own. I started to walk away but he stopped me and I turned to look at him. Faruk: I will hand over the murder weapon if that's the only way I can earn your trust and get you to help me. That way I will not have anything to use against you. He said getting into one of the drawers in his desk and what I heard next was "no! no! no! you can't go missing" Me: what is going on? Faruk: the gun is missing. Even before I could react to that, one of the guys knocked and when he was let in. Him: boss, you need to check out the news. We both looked at him and faruk switched on the tv in his office and there was breaking news. "Wanted for murder" then there was a photo of me above the wanted sign.i took the remote from the table and increased the volume. Reporter: police are looking for two suspects who gunned down a man by name Dukes jabali just a few metres away from his home. The deceased is said to have been coming from work when he was attacked with one of the guys who also happens to be a former drug cartel. Any information about their whereabouts call the police on 25405999. I couldn't believe what I had just heard. Me: what the hell is this? Faruk: I think Myra sent a message just like she promised she would. As we were still trying to digest the situation, a call came through and it was Waridi. I stepped away from Faruk so that he could not make iut whk i was talking to and received it. Me: now it's not a good time. Waridi: are you watching the news, your face is all over the screens. Did you kill that guy? Me: No, but like I said, it's not a good time. I will call you. Waridi: make sure you do. I hanged up and almost immediately Renee called. its as if she was waiting on the line.. Me: Renee... Renee: is it true, did you kill my brother? Me: there is a mixup somewhere, I did not kill Dukes. Renee: nowander you have been acting so good to us, did you kill my mother too? I didn't like the shape that conversation was taking so I hanged up on her then turned to look at Faruk who was twice as worried and shocked like i was. Me: find a way of fixing this s**t before the police starts coming after me. Find that gun Faruk! I ordered and walked out of his office. i was furious because all hell had broken loose. Myra was stupid and her stupidity had gotten me into a hot mess. My next stop was going to be Renee's place. I needed to clear out her doubts and make her understand what had really transpired. I walked out of the club, got in my car and drove off avoiding all the roads that could lead to bumping into traffic police or any authorities for that matter, with my face all over the news, it was a big risk I was taking. Half an hour later I got to Renee's place and walked head down towards the house. I knocked and she opened pulling me in real fast and locking the door behind me after confirming that no one else was outside.. Me: what's going on? Renee: the police have been patrolling here, haven't you seen any cops out there? Me: no. My eye didn't catch any. Renee: they had been here questioning me again. Rahim I need to know the truth from you. Did you kill Dukes? Me: I need you to listen to me very closely. Dukes death took place as I watched but I wasn't the one who pulled the trigger on him. He was my best friend and that night he called me asking to meet up for he needed to tell me something important. As tired as l was, I agreed to meet up with him only to realize he had set a trap for me. When I got there, there was a man with a gun. He needed something from me that I couldn't give and neither could Dukes. He thought Dukes was useless since I was the one with all the information he needed so he asked me to kill Dukes or he would kill me instead. I took the gun he gave me and pointed it at Dukes but since I couldn't kill my best friend, I changed my mind and pointed the gun at him instead but seconds later Dukes got a bullet in his chest and he dropped right on my watch. Renee: was there somebody else? Me: I think so. After that, the guy framed me for the murder and has been threatening to turn me in and get me locked up so No. I did not kill your brother and I did not kill Rosemary too. she was like my mother. Renee: the who killed her. the police have been on my case. so, the who person who killed Dukes, do you think he is the one who set you up with the police?. Me: i honestly don't know Renee. i don't know what is going on. Renee seems to have bought my story but the worry was, how was I going to convince everyone else that I was innocent. i was glad she never asked who the person was but was i going to hide it for long?. Faruk's guns were missing both the real and the fake guns that were used to kill Dukes, someone had stolen the guns from his office but how and why?.. could it be that Myra had someone on the inside that helped her accomplish her mission?.. Renee decided to offer me coffee before I left and as I was seated in the living room going through my phone waiting for her to set the table, I heard a knock on the door and when I peeped through the window, there were two police officers standing there....
