CHAPTER SIXTEEN When Mia returned to Shilah’s trailer, it was after eleven. She parked the old pick-up in front of the house, but didn’t get out right away. She looked around in the darkness, knowing that this was closer to how the park had looked when Merry Summerhill was murdered. Despite the late hour, people were outside their homes, congregating in groups in the shadows. It looked like an outdoor party, with young people holding beers, listening to loud music. Nearby, some was setting off fireworks. Even kids were running around, dodging the trailers, playing tag.
