Chapter 8

1432 Words
Adhir and Andromeda are looking at Mikkos and Hercules, who are staring at each other. Cheetara walks beside Andromeda and rubs her leg. That caught Adhit's attention. I didn't know you had a cheetah for a pet." "Cheetara isn't a pet, she's family. I've had it since I was two days old. She and I grew up together." Andromeda glances at Adhir and tells her father, since her mother isn't here, that he could leave now. Mikkos looks at her, confused. "Your mother never mentioned anything about her siblings. So are you staying here?" He points to the house. She nods, "Yes, until I've dealt with my business. After that, I'll move to my home." Andromeda looks her father in his eyes. Mikkos, Adhir, and Hercules knew she meant the palace. The three men also knew she meant she was fighting for her rightful birthright as the queen. Hercules shakes his head; he can't take this anywhere. "That was some f****d up s**t you did. Know this: no one treats Andromeda like that and gets away with it. I'm pretty sure you, that b***h mate, and her son got the pleasure of seeing my niece kill those innocent men and women so you all could get your rocks off. You know eyes are everywhere, and they didn't like your show either." "I never meant for anyone to die. I don't know what went wrong that day." Mikkos looks at Hercules. Hercules smirks. "Tell that to the family of those dallen warriors. As for what went wrong, I suggest you open your eyes and look at the people around you. Knwo this, if anythign happens to Andromeda that would cause a war you can't win." Adhir looks at Hercules, and he can't believe he threatened the king. That throws off Mikkos. "You do know that I'm the king. What I say goes, I'm the higher power here." Hercules chuckles, looks at Andromeda. "He believes that billshit that comes out of his mouth. News flash, you are the king of werewolves. I'm not a werewolf. Beleive me, you're not the higher power here or anyplace else." "What the hell do you mean I'm not the higher power here or anyplace else?" Mikkos yells Hercules frowns, looking at him, "You'll know soon. I hope you're prepared for what's ahead." Adhir knew where this was headed and told Mikkos they should leave and talk when they're both calm. "I don't know when the hell that will be," Hercules smirks. Mikkos clenches his fists. "Andromeda, tell your mother to answer my calls. " He looks at Hercules again before he and Adhir walk toward the woods. Andromeda looks at her uncle, "Do you feel better now?" "No, but I got a little off my chest. That is not the man your mother told us about. The man I met today is a pathetic king. He's not the strong king Aphrodite said he was. It's a good thing you have our genes." He laughs, "Powerful my ass." Andromeada looks toward the woods, smiles, then her mind goes to her father. **** Mikkos arrives at the palace, cursing and walking fast towards his office. Adhir is trying to keep up with him. Dorian and Brandon heard the two men had returned, and something had the king in an uproar. Dorian quickly makes her way to Mikkos's office. She enters without knocking, almost closing the door on Brandon. Mikkos is talking about Hercules and why Aphro never mentioned to him that she had a brother or any siblings. How arrogant Hercules is, and he doesn't like to be threatened. When he says he needs to see Aphro to clear things up. Dorian rushes over to him, "Calm down. Are you sure that man is Aphro's brother? Could he be her lover and your daughter voceredit up by introducing him as her uncle. Adhir looks at her in disbelief, thinking. Why would Andromeada lie about something so small? Also, if he was Aphro's lover, that's their business. Besides, as if Mikkos and Aphro are still together. I know Mikkis doesn't fall for that woman's lie. "That is one thing I'll say about my daughter. She doesn't lie. Andromeda has never lied about anything. You have her mixed up with someone else." He looks at Brandon. "Before either of you says she lied about her wolf. She didn't lie. We all assume she didn't have one. None of us asked her." Brandon saw the look his father gave him and knew he was talking about him hanging out with Pablo and Cheick. He leaves the office without saying a word. Dorian also knew what Mikkos was talking about when he looked at Brandon with disgust. She tries to think of something else to say to discredit Aphro and Andromeda. She jumps with Mikko, telling her to get the hell out of his office. "I was only trying to help. " Dorian says as she's walking toward the door. "Help. Helping make up lies is what you're doing. Close the door behind you and go upstairs. Don't need your eavesdropping lurking around." Mikkos yells at her. As soon as Mikkos told her to leave his office, Adhir walked over to the door. He opens the door for Dorian and slams it the moment Dorian turns around. **** Alaric, Niam, and some men had gone into netural territory earlier. He was looking for Andromeada but didn't have any luck. One of his men told him that he had heard a rumor that a beautiful young lady lived on the outskirts, which is close to the palace. He, Niam, and his men shifted into their wolves and ran toward the house. When they arrived, they saw Mikkos, Adhir, Andromeada, and a man they didn't know. At first, they thought the man was with Mikkos, and they were there to bully. Spartan wants to kill the three mam. Then he saw his mate put her hand. Now he's only interested in the man; his man seems to be too close to Spartan and Alaric. They both want to rip the man's head off. Now Niam is watching Alaric pacing, cursing about the man at Andromeda. Niam doesn't understand why Alaric didn't go up there and calm Andromeada as his mate and confront the man. Alaric said he didn't want the day he calms her to be when he confronts her about another man. Then he says that the man must be her boyfriend since he didn't leave with the king. He looks at Niam, "It's time that I visit my mate. Now that he has some competition, he has to be careful but make his move soon. If not, he may lose his mate before he has a chance to talk to her." Niam tells him he'd better hurry up becasue he can see that Andromeda is comfortable with the man. "Comfortable. Her ass better not be too damn comfortable with him. No man will touch what is mine. And she is mine." Alaeic frowns, listening to one of the guards at the front gate. "This is all I need today. What does Brandon's two-faced ass want?" He sits behind his desk. "May as well get this over with." "Word is he hasn't been in neural territory since he was last seen with Pablo and his friend. Do you beleive the story about a chimera and centaurs?" Niam is looking at Alaric. Alaric's rapping his desk ." Any other time, I wouldn't. But, since I beleive these messages were warnings about my mate. Yes, I beleive him. Don't ask me how centaurs and a chimera are connected to my mate. Spartan and ne." Brandon enters the office and doesn't speak. "That damn half-sister of mine has called her uncle in for reinforcement. An uncle my father didn't know existed. They had a minor altercation, but my father was and still is angry. Uncle Hercules." "Uncle Hercules." Alaric mumbles while thinking about the dove on his mate's gold wolf, the threats to Dorian and Brandon, and now an uncle who has shown up out of the blue. Since he's a relative Spartan, I won't have to kill him. It's still time I talk to Andromeada. "Hercules. Who in the hell names their son Hercules?" Brandon yells. Adhir is getting a kick out of watching Brandon lose his cool. "I don't know anyone named Hercules. The only Hercules I heard of is long dead by now. That's what the stories say, I think. Hell, I'm not good with Greek stuff." "Greek stuff." Alaric naorrowes his eyes. "That's interesting."
