Amelia POV It's first day of school and I'm on my way to Catherine's house, my best friend to pick her up. We had this kind of routine since we we're in high school, and guess what, it never change. I pulled up in front of her house and saw Catherine seating in front of their porch. She smiled and immediately went to my car. She instantly hugged me "hey Amelia, I've missed you" I hugged her back. "I missed you too. So how was your vacation in Hawaii?" I asked "Its really fun, we should go their together. There's a lot of hot men around the beaches" She said with a wink "Oh let's not talk about it" I said as I start the engine. "Let's go to school, or else we're going to be late" "That's a good idea" she replied I played our favorite song which is "New Rules" by Dua Lipa and as usual Catherine and I sang together with her not so good steps (you know what I mean) We pulled up in the school's parking lot and headed to our room. "Hey you've been asking me about my vacation but didn't tell me how's yours" she said "As usual I slept til' noon and go to the mall later in the afternoon. And dad is busy as usual" I replied "You should have come with me and enjoyed the beautiful view of hot men..." I cut her off "Catherine, I'm still not interested" I told her "okay okay" she said holding both her hands up in surrender. The day went as usual. Most of the class are so boring and Catherine can't stop chit chatting with our classmates. As our last class ends we decided to go to the cafe near our school. We ordered the usual and seat at the corner. The cafe is not that big and not so small. It has a very inviting interior. I don't know but Catherine and I love it here. We usually do our assignments and other requirements here. Since she's also taking up business management like me we have all our subjects together. "Hey Amelia, look at this one. He follows me on i********: and keep sending me dm's" she shows me some photo's of the guy. "Isn't he cute?" She asked "Fair enough" I replied. "I never really heard you complimented a guy in your life" she said rolling her eyes. "That's because I never saw a guy who's good looking enough to turn my head 360°" I said with a fake smile "Your order is here" says the waitress Rebecca, she always serves our order. "Thank you Rebecca" I said with a nod "I can't really get this Amelia, can you help out?" Catherine asked. "Let me see?" I said getting her notes. This is her weakness which is I'm good at, the subject Mathematics. "Like how can you get that? How will those letters x or y turn into a number? Oh my I think my head is going to explode." "It's because your to lazy to think and analyze". I told her. For almost an hour we've been going through the same topic. "Amelia, can we just go home? I can't really get it" she said. I look at her in disbelief "see? You're so lazy" I said giving back her notes. I drop Catherine in their house and drive to mine. As I parked my car outside I saw my dads' car which means he's early today. I entered the house and saw him at the receiving area talking to someone over to his phone. "Of course sir, I'll be waiting for you" he said before he turned to me. As usual he gave me the biggest smile and I instantly run towards him. He's been away for a month because some business. "I've missed you sweetie" he said as he engulfed me with his warm hug. "I missed you too dad" I replied hugging him back. I asked Stella to prepare a dinner, I hope you hadn't have your dinner yet. "I hadn't dad, Catherine and I just had coffee" I told him. "That's good to hear" he said We had our dinner and talk about random things until he received a phone call and by the looks on his face I know its not good. "What's wrong dad?" I asked. He didn't say anything for a while and tap my hand "don't worry about it, daddy can handle it" he replied. "What is it dad? Tell me what happened" I told him. He stared at me as if debating whether to tell me or not. The he sighed "two of our hotels have been bombed" he said without looking at me. I was shocked to hear that "but why? Who would do that?" I asked him. Then suddenly he gets up "Amelia you need to leave and hide. I think I know who did this" "Why do I need to hide daddy?" I asked him. "Because they will come after you. And I can't afford to see you hurt" he told me I stand there not knowing what to think. How will I go on with my studies when I need to hide? And why are they doing this to us? Who are they? There's a lot of questions in my mind. Dad immediately calls someone in his phone. "I need your help" he said over the phone. "They bomb two of my hotels and I'm worried that they'll go after my daughter" he continued "I'm willing to do anything you want, just save my daughter. Protect her" he said over the phone and with that he ended the call. Pack your things Amelia. Just get the necessary. We're leaving.
