Knight in the Dark

Long ago after the killing of Abel, a curse was placed upon the family of Cain It was said that they shall all be beasts, on the night that Abel was killed. On that night they shall forget their humanity as Cain did and they shall relive the moment of when Cain killed his brother.  So since then every blue moon all Cain's descendants would shift but only those of pure blood. Non-purebloods would not have this curse but instead, they will never be able to reproduce with a non-purebred. So as they reproduced with a pureblood their child despite not having pureblood would experience the shift since they would have enough of Cain's blood in them. This curse kept Cain's life tree from dying. However one night a father witnessed his son shift and saw the amount of pain he was in and murdered himself. The son as a result killed his whole family and then himself. God saw that this curse may have been deserved in the beginning but as time progressed the descendants have become more civilized therefore he revised the curse. Now Cain's descendants will not have the pain of shifting. Since God himself saw that he held a grudge for too long he made a challenge that if they did not kill a living soul, which included animal and human alike, he would not only lift the curse but give than a blessing for the wrongs he has cost them. God never mentioned a time period so after a century the blessing was forgotten but they all remained faithful for the curse has yet to come upon a single one on them.  After two centuries with no bloodshed and no tears, God decided to bless them by completely lifting the curse as he originally planned. In addition to that, he granted them a blessing. All generations of Cain's shall have the gift of being highly superior to other beings.  However they began to be greedy and kill once again, so God placed a direct descendant of Abel on Earth.  It was said that only the direct descendant of Abel shall be the ruler. That only were they allowed to make laws and only they were allowed to kill another descendant. Once the descendant of Cain called "Niue" heard this they searched high and low to kill that person, knowing that if they were dead before they reached the age their powers would come than once again would they be the superior race.  However, they failed The descendant of Abel called "Evue" was protected by God who hid him until his time to take the throne came.  However, after being alone for several decades he prayed to God to send him a soul mate. That was when the first soul mate was created.  Ever since the first soul mate whenever it was time to reproduce the young would pray for a soul mate and when it was time they would meet theirs. This occurred for many generation and God was pleased with what he was seeing. There were no more killing and instead there was peace besides the few bloodshed that occurred as a result of land conflicts or love interests or to keep safe but those could be overlooked.  The Evue continued to rule the land and to make sure that all right things were rewarded and all wrongs were punished. That was until the current king had this second daughter Princess December. That was when the laws began to change but this time God could not overlook it and instead had to focus his attention on how this scene would play out
