Theodore's Pov I sit by the pool, the early morning sun casting long shadows across the water. The rhythmic crashing of the waves beyond the dunes is a soothing backdrop, but it does little to quiet the storm in my mind. I do not join everyone for breakfast. I cannot face Juniper again, not with everything swirling in my head. How do I tell her? How do I make her see that I’m not the man she thinks I am? The memory of her face from last night, the guarded look in her eyes, lingers like a weight on my chest. She’s built walls so high around herself, and I know I’m the reason they’re there. The bet, the video, all the mistakes I made, it’s no wonder she doesn’t trust me. But I’ve changed. I’m not that reckless, selfish guy anymore. The thought of losing her for good gnaws at me.
