During dinner, I cannot help but keep a close eye on Juniper. Every laugh, every smile, every word she exchanges with Liam is under my scrutiny. I watch her intently, waiting for the moment her carefully constructed façade will crack.
But it does not.
She plays her part perfectly, chatting easily with everyone at the table, even me when necessary. Her laughter seems genuine, her smiles warm and effortless. If I did not know the truth, I might have believed the act myself.
