Chapter 9Adam gave Christina a few days and then called her and asked her to dinner as an apology for what had happened between them the other night. He brought her roses and apologized again. And it seemed as if she’d forgiven him, for now. The first half of the date went better than Adam expected. Two hours passed like minutes as they took their time over dinner, polishing off a bottle of wine between courses. Then, after their entrees, they lingered over coffee and cheesecake while trading stories of their travels aboard.
