Lizzie “Lizzie, sweetheart wake up. Breakfast is almost ready.” I groaned as my mom yelled up the stairs. I looked over at the clock 7:35 a.m. it is too early but if I do t get up my mom will just come in here and wake me up. “Coming mom.” I yelled back. That’s should buy me another 10 minutes. I waited another 5 minutes before jumping out of bed and getting dressed. I rushed down the stairs and stop abruptly when I see my whole family sitting around the table. As soon as they saw me they all yelled “HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZZIE!!” My aunt, uncle and cousin Georgia were here and so was my grandma and grandpa. My older twin brothers Micheal and Justin were sticking their fingers in my cake and mom glared at them. Dad rushed over and pulled me in a tight hug. “My babygirl is all grown up. She graduates this weekend and is going off to college in a few months.” He said with tears in his eyes. I was my daddy’s princess always have been always will be. “I’m not going away forever and besides it’s only an hour drive away. I promised you and mom I’d come home some weekends and every holiday.” I reassured dad. He’s having a really hard time with me growing up. I actually caught him watching old home movies wiping tears away. “So what are your plans for today Lizzie?” My cousin Georgia asked. She is only 16 but she acts older than she is. “Maddy and Parker are taking me out for a special dinner tonight and than dancing.” I said giggling at the stern look on my daddy’s face. “I wish I was old enough to go.” Georgia pouted sticking her lip out. She made me laugh. “I promise for your 18th me and you will go out dancing all night if you want” I told her and she ran over hugging me tight. “Oh thank you thank you. Your the best cousin in the world” now that got a shocked look from my brothers and laughs from the rest of my family. We ate our breakfast and mom even had a cake made which we happily ate. After a bit there was a honk outside. “Ok everyone don’t wait up for me. I love you all.” They also responded with I love you’s and my mom and dad walked to the door with me both giving me hugs and kisses. I jumped in the backseat of Parker’s car and waved hood bye to my family. “I see the traditional happy birthday family breakfast was underway.” Maddy giggled. “Yea I know I’m a little old for it but they love me and I could change that for the world.” I said with a content sigh. “So are you ready for our shopping trip before we go out tonight?” Parker asked “Hell yeah let’s do this girls” and that got a laugh out of my friends. We drove to the mall and spent hours going from store to store trying on outfits. We stopped in Victoria Secret where I got a new undergarment set. We stopped by this one store where I found the perfect club outfit. Black sequin dress with lace on the Brest area and a slit up the right leg and fishnet sticking with 4 inch black stilettos. “Omg Lizzie you are gonna knock em dead tonight. I’m so jelly of your figure.” Maddy and Parker were both skinny like tail skinny and me well I wasn’t overweight but I had curves in all the right places. Thank you mom. I had big breast and what felt be heard many guys at school refer to as a J-Lo booty. I had a small waist and long dark hair. I’ve been told more times than I can count I am a knock out but I don’t really talk to guys. “So is tonight the night that Ms. Saving My Self for the Perfect Man is going to give in and finally take the plunge?” Maddy asked. Yes I’m a virgin. I used to joke I was saving myself for Channing Tatum but since he’s married I got to find me someone else. “I don’t know if I find the perfect man. But I’m just going to have fun and hang with my girls.” I told them honestly. So now that we have our outfits and shoes I say we go back to my house get ready and head to the restaurant. By the way Lizzie my mom and dad said to tell you dinner is on them as a birthday present.” Parker said. “Tell them I said thank you.” I told her sincerely. Growing up we were called the three amigos. Always getting into trouble. We all piled back in the car and rushed toward Parker’s house where we spent the next two hours getting dressed, primping, and applying make up. Around 7 p.m. we headed toward the restaurant where we had our dinner than headed an hour outside of town to this club. It was lively with a lot of people in line waiting to get in. Maddy grabbed me by the hand and drug me to the bouncer where she told him it was my birthday and slipped him a $50 and he let us in. I’m so glad I got great friends. We joined the swaying bodies on the dance floor as Jessia was blaring through the speakers. We danced for what felt like hours and I yelled to them I’m getting a water from the bar. I pushed through all the sweaty bodies gyrating on each other til I made it to the bar. I waved the bartender down and asked for a water. As I waited I got this feeling I was being watched and a shiver went up my spin. Bartender returned with my water and I drank it down. I returned to my friends on the dance floor with this feeling I was being watched. As I was dancing with them I felt it more and more. I looked around the crowded club and as I looked towards the bar I had left I locked eyes with the most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen. I felt this soul shattering feeling and I felt me breath catch because he was staring right back at me. Into my eyes. He stood up from the bar and walked right in my direction and all I could do was stand there frozen in place. He was captivating, mesmerizing. He stopped just inches in front of me and asked “May I have this dance?” All I could do is nod and he wrapped one arm around my waist and we began to slowly dance to the music. It was like I was floating on a cloud and the whole world dropped away. “My name is Eric, what’s yours?” “Elizabeth but everyone calls me Lizzie” We were so close it was like our bodies were fused together.
