HER JOURNEY — SynopsisLeah Harts has always been the kind of person who keeps going, even when life gives her every reason to stop. After losing her parents at a young age, Leah finds comfort and love in the care of her grandmother, the woman who becomes her home and teaches her the importance of kindness, faith, and perseverance. But when she loses her grandmother too, Leah is forced to learn how to stand on her own and build a future without the person who always believed in her.Determined to create a meaningful life, Leah dedicates herself to her dream of becoming a pharmacist — a career built around helping others. She believes that if she can bring comfort and healing to people’s lives, then all the struggles she has faced will have a purpose. But just when her dreams begin to come within reach, life throws her a challenge she never expected.A devastating health battle threatens to take away everything she has worked for. The savings she carefully kept for her future must now go toward her treatment. The dream she fought so hard to achieve suddenly feels impossible, and the strong woman everyone sees begins to question whether she has the strength to continue. At her lowest point, Leah meets a young boy in the hospital who changes the way she sees her own struggles. Through his words, his courage, and a reminder that God can bring light into the darkest seasons, Leah begins to rediscover hope. But healing is not the only unexpected journey waiting for her. When Leah’s path eventually crosses with Von’s, she discovers that love is not about finding someone to save her — it is about finding someone who walks beside her while she learns to save herself.HER JOURNEY is an emotional story of love, faith, resilience, sacrifice, and a woman’s fight to reclaim the dreams she thought she had lost. It is a story about a girl who survived loss, faced the impossible, and discovered that sometimes the greatest journeys begin in the moments when we feel completely lost.

CHAPTER ONE: WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
HER JOURNEY If someone had told me that an ordinary morning would become the beginning of a story I would never forget, I probably would have laughed. Life had a funny way of hiding important moments behind normal ones. A regular morning. A regular day. A regular decision. And then suddenly, everything changes. My alarm rang for the third time, and I stared at my phone like it had personally offended me. “Are you serious?” I whispered. The alarm, unfortunately, did not care about my feelings. I dragged myself out of bed and looked around my room, already regretting the fact that I had stayed awake longer than I should have the night before. That was one thing about adulthood nobody warned me about. There was always something. Work. Bills. Responsibilities. And somehow, sleep was always the first thing sacrificed. I got ready for the day, moving around my apartment while trying to convince myself that I was fully awake. I wasn’t. But I looked like I was, and honestly, that was enough. Before leaving, I stopped in front of my mirror. For a moment, I just looked at myself. The girl staring back at me looked familiar, but she also looked different. She wasn’t the same girl who had once needed someone to tell her everything would be okay. She had grown. She had learned. She had survived things she never thought she would have to face. My blue eyes stared back at me, carrying memories I rarely talked about. Losing my parents. Growing up with my grandmother, the woman who became my home and my biggest support. Losing her too. Those moments changed me. They taught me how to stand on my own, even when I wished I had someone standing beside me. I gave myself a small smile. “Okay, Leah,” I said. “You can do this.” A little encouragement never hurt anyone. Especially when it came from yourself. I grabbed my bag and checked the time. “Great,” I muttered. “Running late. Because apparently being responsible is not enough. You also have to be responsible on time.” I laughed quietly at myself before walking out the door. Another morning. Another day. Another chance to figure things out. I had no idea that this day would become the beginning of something.
