I was taken aback by Leah's confession, my heart stuttered in my chest, and I pulled away from the kiss just to be sure of what I heard. "What did you say?"
I cupped her face in my palms, running my hands on her cheeks.
"Please say it again," I pleaded, staring at her beautiful face.
"I love you, Damien... I do."
I felt my heart swell, afraid it would burst out of my chest. It all felt like a dream, and I didn't want to wake up from it. This night felt ethereally magical. This had to be the Goddess intervening in my life, trying to make everything alright
