CHAPTER 17
Lex had no spit. His mouth was as dry as any desert he had ever walked through in cat form, and still, he knew that he couldn’t turn back. He had a very important task he needed to complete and damn it, fear or no fear he was going to do this. He wanted his dragon back.
“Are you alright?” Stone asked in concern. “You don’t have to do this you know? We can find another way.”
Getting on his tippy-toes, Lex gave Stone a peck on the lips, saying, “Nice try, but I’m going to go and get Talpa and the other maharishi out of there. You just keep watch on our other mate and make sure he doesn’t do anything stupid.”
Sighing heavily, Stone said, “Fine. Do you have the serums Hewitt gave you?”
Nodding, Lex replied, “Yeah, they’re in my fanny pack that I have strapped on my waist.”
