Payton was different from all other angels not only because she was half vampire. Her wings were different colour size, they were larger than her mother’s. She had only ever extracted them once in her life and when she saw them she never wanted to.
All the times she heard her grandparents yell at her mother for marrying a vampire and having a child with him. That day she saw the true abomination she was, in an act to never remember the memories she refused to ever used them.
She even hardly embraced her vampire side, she had never extracted her fangs not used them and everything else. All she did was use her vampire speed time to time.
Payton stood in front of the five people who were watching her, everyone looked at her in awe. Her wings stretched out flapping in the air, when ever she shrunk them they stood from her upper neck to her feet.
Her wings weren’t like all the other in colour, angels had pure white wings, light black wings or purple. Payton had one pure white and the other dark black which was weird because her mother had pure white wings that’s when she noticed she was everything her grandparents accused her of being.
When she searched if anyone ever had both coloured wings on the internet it brought now. Black wings where naturally normal they symbolized the second strongest while purple was the least and pure white was the most strongest in much more than physical strength.
But Payton’s black wing was caused by the dark side in her system her blood thirsty side the need to kill, even though she was impure she was very much strong really strong both her angel and vampire side.
Payton shrunk her wings looking back at Ms. Rosalyn she waited for any word but the woman seemed dazzled so was everyone else. Payton cleared her throat gaining Ms. Rosalyn attention at last.
“Sorry your wings are just.. really unique.” Ms. Rosalyn apologized, the woman wished she could study her wings. The teacher did a few rounds in the air with Payton who almost fell as times.
After the tests where done Payton wore her shirt again her wings no where in sight, they were back to being packed under the shirt.
All angel wings could shrink to the point of a tiny school bag they only got big if they wanted them to, but if they didn’t the wings looked like mini wings just resting on their backs.
The headmistress dismissed Payton and Dahlia just in time for breakfast.
“Your wings are large, how are they black and white.” Dahlia asked Payton as they walked to the cafeteria.
Payton fixed up her ponytail with all the flying and running it got messed up, she liked keeping her hair in a ponytail always. “I’m half not angel remember, half impure.” she explained.
Dahlia gave her a nod completely understanding she was still interested in seeing them again. “Anyway what are the average wing colours of angels here and how many are we?” Payton asked at random as they continued walking.
There wasn’t any math to be done a few angels where on school grounds, the most species were the VWW (Vampires, werewolves and witches). “With you here, ten. Three girls now four and six guys, most colours are purple like Ralph or black. There is only one white winged student.”
“Who are they?”
She had been waiting a lifetime to answer that question Dahlia jumped in excitement throwing her arm over Payton’s shoulder. “Haley, she’s super friendly and humble unlike the rest of the angels. She’s such a beautiful, everything about her is just wow... so when she extracts her wings just..” she rolled her eyes with full pleasure, Dahlia always spoke of Haley with full admiration and love, there was something more between them.
Payton looked at her with raised eyebrows, “Sorry for asking this but What’s your s****l partner preference?”
Dahlia moved away from Payton looking at her with a cocky smirk,
“Sorry to disappoint but I’m not interested my heart belongs to another.” she placed her arms over her chest with a wide smile just like a child getting their first birthday gift.
They finally arrived in the cafeteria which was almost full with students. Payton and Dahlia got their breakfasts, walking back to the table they sat on Payton continued their conversation.
She leaned in near her ear whispering, “You f****d her didn’t you?” Payton spoke with a smile on her face, there was nothing more comforting than finding out your roommate also likes what you do.
Dahlia bit her lower lip thinking over it a while, she then spoke still biting down on her lip. “I mean, a couple of times best times of my life.” she rolled her eyes dramatically which caused Payton in laughter.
The two where laughing when they approached Amber, Dixie, Jaan, keelin and Ralph.
“What are we laughing about this early.” Ralph asked them as they sat down. Everything was dressed in their respective colours apart from Payton. They all looked smart and really neat.
“Nothing funny for you.” Dahlia pointed out glancing at Payton from the corner of her eyes, a faint smirk still evident. Ralph huffed continuing with his breakfast Payton giggled so did Dahlia.
“Don’t tell me you.. her first day.” Amber spoke glaring at her friend who she knew too well. Everyone else looked at her with a shocked expression, the only person out of the loop this time was Payton.
Dahlia held out her hands in defence, “Nothing happened we were just talking and plus she like super straight.”
Payton now caught up to what was happening as much as she would love to, her mother would kill her. She shook her head in disapproval, “Nop I’m gay as f**k dear.” she gave everyone a wide smile who seemed shocked.
“Why are all the hot girls lesbians.” Ralph growled in frustration.
“It’s just me and Dahlia Ralph what are you talking about.” Payton asked looking at the guy, instead of answer he just held out his finger pointing towards Amber it was now Payton’s turn to be shocked.
Amber swallowed her sandwich looking at Ralph she spoke, “Point of correction Ralph I’m label less I’m open for anything. Plus you’re being dramatic Dixie isn’t gay she just didn’t want to date you.” the look Dixie and Amber gave eachother was questionable, Payton knew she wasn’t the only one that saw it she shook it off.
“I consider it gay, why would no girl want all this.” Ralph snored.
“Because of that attitude.” Dixie hissed at him. Ralph was always feeling himself no wonder he was single, he left none for the girls.
Keelin comforted him with a tight squeeze, “Don’t worry bro, I want you just you don’t want me so life is not fair to me too.” Ralph sighed even louder he had gotten tired of this, the rejected the being teased.
Jaan looked at his boyfriend his face screaming disbelief, he looked back to his plate continuing with breakfast. “Wow just wow.” he whispered with a full mouth.
Keelin had now let go of Ralph, he had his arm around Jaan’s neck. “I was just joking Jaan I only want you boo.” he gave him a peck on the cheek.
Payton sat there watching the group dismantle with Jaan and Keelin dating him trying to making to apologize for the joke. Amber and Dixie probably f*****g each other, Dahlia staring at some girl on a table two tables away from theirs probably Hayley and Ralph moping. She definitely loved it even more.
