Morning arrived much sooner than how Payton wished it did. Dahlia had tried walking her before but all Payton did was pull the covers over her head. Dahlia stormed back into the room in a towel, "Payton you have to get ready or We'll be late." Dahlia stood beside her bed waiting. "Why!" Payton mumbled under the covers. She had never been a morning person and she would never be on it was too much work for her. Payton Kent always just wanted to sleep a few more minutes every day even if she woke up late in the afternoon. Dahlia rubbed the side of her head in frustration her new room was way out of control, if it kept up she would get a headache. With one big exhale she spoke, "Because we have classes, good enough reason?" "No I meant why so early Dahlia don't classes start at 9, this is like... 4?" Payton asked still under the covers. Dahlia had enough of everything if she was late her mother would scold her. She tried pulling the covers off Payton but she had a strong grip on them, "It's 5:15, in case you forgot you're new here and mother told me to get you up as early as possible you need to go through tests." she practically shouted the words still struggling with the covers, Payton wasn't giving up anytime. "For what!" Payton cried out, she just wanted sleep and nothing else. She already began regretting coming to the school, if she knew she had to be up so early she would not have been excited. Dahlia had finally given up on even trying to pull away the covers, she crossed her arms in front of her chest. "Rank you in you're species, on strength agility and stuff." she mumbled. With a faint sigh Payton pulled the covers off her, "But I'm tired!" she spoke looking at her roommate who was still in her towel, the towel hardly kept anything hidden. Payton looked at her body in full awe. Dahlia noticed her eyes trailing up and down her body she shrugged in discomfort then began walking to the closet. "Go have a shower." she slammed the door to the closet leaving Payton alone with her thoughts. Payton swallowed the lamp stuck in her throat for some reason her throat was as dry as a desert. Payton got out of bed then to the bathroom she went. She took a cold shower that would surely help her stay awake. Payton walked out of the bathroom in a towel walking towards the closet she passed Dahlia who was seated on her bed, just sitting and staring at the wall. Payton threw on some sweat pants and a plain black t-shirt. She walked out of the closet only to find Dahlia leaned against the wall closer to the door. She was dressed in a black and grey striped skirt that stopped just above the knees with a tucked in brown golf shirt, she was in black pair block-heel boots. "Why the unmixed colours?" refering to the additional brown golf shirt. "Werewolves wear brown golf shirts it's the school uniform so are the boots and skirts. Trousers for guys, the boots are in three types, block-heel like mine, chelsea boots for guys and Madigan faux fur combat boots." she looked Payton up and down mainly focusing on the type of shoes she had on. "You'll like the third ones." she patted her on the shoulder then opened the door, it was time to head to the fields. "Why do girls have two options?" Payton asked following Dahlia out the door. The halls where empty and quiet everyone must still have been sleeping and yet they were up and at it at 5. "Because others want heeled ones and others non heel." Dahlia explained as they made their way out the down the stairs, their room was on the second floor out of three. The only noise available in the dorm was their chatter and sound of shoes. "I see, tell me about the colour thing." Payton had alot of questions she wanted to ask she just made sure to ask one by one. Dahlia looked at Payton over her shoulder then began explaining how Amidst worked. "Angels wear yellow gold, Vampires wear purple, witches wear red. Mermaids sky blue, banshees white and the list goes on." she couldn't tell her the who list it was too long, different supernatural beings where at Amidst. She stopped in her tracks when a very important thing popped up in her mind, she looked at Payton with a wide smile. "Hybrids wear the mixed colours of their species, which means you'll have yellow gold and purple. So one of a kind." Dahlia squealed their school had never had such a special hybrid, this year would certainly be good. Dahlia and Payton walked through the cold morning to the football field she was shown yesterday. As they got into view she could spot the headmistress in a dark red suit, suits fitted the woman perfectly and her chose of wardrobe was authentic. Beside her stood a man with darker skin complexion than Payton he was dressed in a dark green pant suit and a long sleeved shirt. Payton tagged Dahlia's skirt a bit to get her attention, "Who is the man next to your mother?" "That's Dr. Macklemore, his the vice to my mother and the department teacher for the witches and wizards, his a strong wizard." "How about those other two." Payton asked pointing to the man and woman beside the other two. The next man looked intimidating a bit with his blue hair trimmed to a mid fade and dark eyes, he had the ocean and the sky just on his face. The lady had short grey hair that rested above her shoulders her eyes were honey brown, unlike the man beside her she had a smile on. "That's Mr. Derek he teaches vampires. That's Ms. Rosalyn teaches Angels." Payton shook her head. They approached the headmistress and the other three teachers. "Nice you could finally join us." Dahlia's mother spoke to both the girls but her eyes fixed on her daughter. If anything Dahlia knew her mother most out of everyone on campus, the headmistress was certainly scolding them for running late. "It's not my fault she's hard to wake up." she tried explaining even if it was useless to try, the headmistress huffed then took her attention to Payton. With a light smile she began to speaking introducing her to the rest. "Payton, this is Dr. Macklemore, Mr. Derek and Ms. Rosalyn. We'll be testing your ability today to see where we should focus on with you as your here." Payton gave her a nod when she finished explaining. The first person up was Mr. Derek apart from teaching vampires on controlling their urges and other stuff, he taught all students combat and personal defense. "You know how to punch?" He asked in his deep voice, Payton gave him a swift nod. Spending so much time with her father he taught her some tricks, Mr. Kent taught self defense classes sometimes. "Try to punch me." Mr. Derek stood with his arms behind his back. Payton exhaled then stood her ground watching him she threw a punch to his face but with his vampire speed he dodged it, Payton was taught better than that. She landed a successful punch in his gut with her speed the first punch was just to confuse him. Mr. Derek looked at her amazed, she was the first student to ever successfully punch him in the first try. He looked at his companions with a hopeful smile then back to Payton, "Vampire speed, have you ever used it." everyday she did with her father or alone, Payton agreed with a nod again. Mr. Derek raced with Payton to the school cafeteria and back and she wasn't far behind at all. They did a five laps and a bit of serious fighting, Payton was keeping up perfectly. Handing it over to Ms. Rosalyn he went to stand beside everyone watching. She looked at Payton with a wide smile, "I'm just going to test you're wings, do you use them?" Unlike her and her vampire side, she barely used her wings she never liked them even if her mother tried to convince her otherwise she didn't believe. Payton gave the teacher a nod no, Ms. Rosalyn thought about it a bit then spoke. "Well today we will." she patted Payton.
