Ralph waved his hand in front of her her face a couple of times trying to snap Payton back to reality. Keelin brought his lips close to her ear, “Payton!!” he shouted in her ear. Payton jerked back to reality looking at her friends hopeless. “Hide me!” she spoke before any of them could, trying to get in the middle of them all. They all watched her clueless as to why she was hiding, searching the yards they saw no one she could hide from but Dahlia did. Looking back from her parents to Payton she smirked. Mr and Mrs Kent where the ones walking down to the tree, big smiles on their faces and a basket in hand, a picnic basket. Payton hiding behind Keelin and Jaan’s back she laid herself on the grass. Her parents approached the group of teens searching for their beloved daughter. Mrs. Kent noticed Dahlia first signaling for her to stand, she did and she was quickly embraced into a hug. Habiba letting go of the poor girl showered her with questions. “Where is Payton, have you seen her all week. Is she doing okay.” the group of friends now put it all together, understanding why Payton was hiding and the woman in front of them kept rumbling. Dahlia acknowledging Mr. Kent, she shook his hand but the man was more like his wife, he embraced her in a bear hug. Dahlia now understood why Payton was running. Escaping Mr. Kent’s hug she smiled at both of them. “It’s nice to meet you too. Payton—” she was interrupted by Jaan and Keelin. The two shouted in union. “Is over here!” the parted bringing Payton in clear view to her parents. Payton curled herself up into a ball on the grass, all she wanted to happen was her shrinking into the size of an ant. Seating upright again she glared at the two boy, her eyes screaming it’s not over, she would deal with the couple later. Her father sped his way to her using his speed, kneeling on his knees he smiled at his daughter. “Playing hide and seek at this age?” he teased. Payton shook her head no, “I was rather going for hide and don’t seek.” she smiled at her father. Embracing him in a hug her mother joined in, she missed then after all. Her parents held the hug a bit longer than what Payton was going for. Clearing her throat she spoke, “I think that’s enough people.” “It’s been a century let us enjoy this, don’t ruin it.” her father spoke trailing his hand up and down her back, while her mother kept filling her face with kisses. Her friends watched with amusement while Payton wanted to be swallowed by the ground that moment. Payton softly pushed them off her standing from the ground she looked at her parents. “It’s only been a week.” she pointed out the obvious. Her mother cupped her face placing one last kiss on her forehead, Mrs. Kent locked eyes with her daughter both her hands still on her face. “That’s way too long for us to be away from our lovely first born daughter.” Payton brought her arms over her mother’s trying to free her face, but the woman had a tight hold. Payton raised her eyebrows at her mother, “I’m your only child.” “Exactly why we can’t stay away from you.” her father spoke, walking up to his wife he placed his arms around her neck, looking at Payton over her shoulder. Mrs. Kent still cupping her face turned her face to the side, looking over to her hand she asked him. “She looks like she has lost weight right?” her eyes trailed up and down her whole body, examining her. “The food must be bad, is it dear?” her father asked agreeing with what his wife had said, but to the contrary Payton was as they left her on Sunday, nothing that great changed. Freeing herself from them Payton took a step to the side, “No the food is not bad, I haven’t lost weight. How did you get in anyway, parents aren’t allowed here so frequent.” she asked her parents narrowing her eyes at them, they must have pulled a trick. “We said you were not feeling all good and you needed refill on your vitamins!” Mr. Kent explained with a wide smile. Payton rubbed the eyes the sun was getting to her, “Don’t tell me by vitamins you meant blood, they provide that here and I hardly need blood.” she told her parents with a stern look. “When last did you drink blood?” her mother asked, she knew her daughter way too well Payton never liked feeding herself, she believed she didn’t need it. “Weeks ago and I’m functioning perfectly, see.” she pointed at herself up and down. Her mother sighed looking over to her husband she gave him a nod, he knew what to do. Mr. Kent let go of his wife, using his vampire speed she shoved Payton with all his stream. Like she had suspected Payton flew in the air landing yards from them, falling on her back. Everyone in the group looked with intrigued by what they had witnessed. Mrs. Kent shook her head at her daughter’s stubbornness. She didn’t have resilience, her vampire side was getting weaker by the neglection of blood and so was her angel side because half her body wasn’t at it full use. Payton grabbed both sides of her ribcage groaning in pain. The girl rolled herself over for a second resting on her side, then she was on her knees the pain slowly began fading. Mr. Kent stood in front of her lending a hand which his daughter took but while giving him a glare. “Drink blood.” he spoke patting her on the back violently, Payton jerk in pain, maybe she did need blood. Using their vampire speed they once more stood in front of her mother, who did not look at all pleased with her daughter. “Drink blood I know mother.” Payton spoke going over to seat where she had before. Mr. Kent went over to the picnic basket they brought, he got out a bag of blood, tossing it over to Payton. “Drink up kid!” he smiled at her while her mother nod nodded in approval. Payton turning her attention to her friends, who had their eyes on her already. She held up the blood bag in front of them, “Are you okay with me drinking it in front of you?” they all have her a nod, but Jaan had a different opinion. Payton looked at Jaan, “Do you want some I’m sure dad carried the whole blood bank.” she offered him. He nodded his head with a smile, “That would be great!” Jaan squealed excited, Mr. Kent tossed him a blood bag. Mr. Kent walked up to his wife seating beside her they waited for their daughter to drink up. Payton looked at the blood bag then at everyone, they were all watching her Jaan had already began drinking from his smiling. Payton sighed opening up the bag she brought the tiny outlet to her mouth. The cool iron rich blood passed through her lips, with each drink she felt a bit stronger, she did need blood like her mother said. Mother is always right after all. Still drinking from the blood bag she looked at her parents, “You came here to make me drink blood that’s it?” she asked her parents continuing with her brunch. Mr. Kent rubbed his palms together nudging his wife, she rolled her eyes at him. Looking at her daughter she spoke, “We came to get you for a picnic.” Habiba smiled widely, Payton looked at them with both her eye brows raised still drinking.
