Sitting besides her friends Payton rested her back against the large tree. It was her first weekend at Amidst, she had survived the week and made friends along the way.
They decided on sitting under one of the big trees on campus, as to they felt suffocated in the tiny rooms, all seven of them agreed on just going out and talking.
Tucking one of her hands deep in her shorts pocket Payton looked back at her friends. “I feel so weak.” she spoke tilting her head. Everyone looked at Payton with a concerned face.
“Need blood or something?” Ralph asked, his fingers still playing with the grass. He like it, slipping it through his hands made him feel someone relaxed.
Payton disapproved with a short shake of her head. “I am really too relaxed. The fresh air is fantastic.” a side smirk appeared on her face.
Her friends groaned, for a second they thought it was somewhat a serious matter, they were all ready to donate someone’s blood that someone being Ralph.
“If you’re dying let us know. We all feel too relaxed under this tree.” Jaan spoke looking up the tree, studying each brunch carefully.
Payton just rolled her head to the side watching other students spread across the yard. Everyone else doing their thing, Amber running her fingers through Dixie’s hair as her head rested on her laps.
Jaan and Keelin intertwining their fingers then breaking them apart as they whispered sweet words into eachothers ears. Ralph playing with the grass and her roommate Dahlia laying on her back her eyes staring at the sky, lost in thought.
A mischievous idea popped up in Amber’s head looking up the tree once she faked a dramatic gasp. Everyone in the circle looked at the girl questioning her.
Ever Dixie looked up to her but not at all breaking away from her laps not touch. Amber running her fingers through hair looked at the entire group. “I know why we’re feeling so relaxed.” she stated, everyone looked so interested. Payton sat up no longer leaning against the tree, Ralph letting go of the grass, Jaan and Keelin still hand in hand and Dahlia sat up.
“Proceed woman.” Dahlia spoke she was always keen on story, she had no blood of patience.
Amber stroked Dixie’s head softly like an owner petting it’s animal, smiling down on Dixie she looked at her friends again. “This tree has accumulated a lot of rumors through the years, it has frighten each person that heard of it, they all wished to try it.” everyone looked at Amber anticipating the rest of the story but one.
Dahlia shook her head she wanted it over with, holding her gaze on Amber the girl commented. “Enough of beating around the bush girl. Go to the point will you.”
Amber snapped her head at her, “I was getting there. Shut up.” Amber hissed, Dahlia pressing her lips together did not comment again. Amber stroking Dixie’s head looked at everyone, her eyes studying them all, she knew this was going to be good.
She opened her mouth a bit to speak but closed her mouth again, pressing her thumb on her lips she acted like she was thinking. Dahlia rolled her eyes loosing the bit of patience she held onto, everyone else was more interested than before.
Amber move her thumb from her lips finally deciding on spilling the tea. “It... just a good place to sit bitches.” everyone groaned wishing they hadn’t listened in the first place, Amber giggled to herself.
Everyone took it with a bit of frustration but Dahlia wanted to jump the girl, how dare she make her anxious over nothing.
Shaking her thoughts off she huffed laying back on the grass. “I should have known when you poorly acted a dramatic pause.”
“But you did not, oh so intelligent one.” Amber pointed out victorious to the matter, she still felt as though she had accomplished something when she wasted their time.
Dahlia rolled over to her side smile at the girl her eyes looking from Dixie to Amber. “Why don’t you tell us a real fun story everyone is dying to find out.” she asked.
Amber looked at her unaware of the story they wanted to hear. Dahlia pointed her index finger between the two girls, “Are you guys dating now. We know you’re sleeping with eachother.” everyone in the circle now paid attention to the chat the two girls where having, so anxious on finding confirmation.
Amber lowered her head looking down on Dixie, blush on both girls faces, neither spoke.
Everyone in the group nodding their head clearly understanding what their silence met just cheered, supporting the new found couple of the group.
But Ralph soon made them stop their cheering looking at the two girls with a tilted head. “Is like Dixie a lesbian now.” that question made everyone look at the guy throwing draggers.
Even the two profound couple looked up. Dixie narrowing her eyes at the boy spoke, “You can call it what ever you want. But I prefer gay for Amber.” everyone chanted in excitement, Dixie and Amber locked lips swiftly. The cheers got loud.
Payton looking at the group soon realised something, “Guys!” Payton shouted on top of her lungs trying to surpass the loud noises. After a third attempt there was now silence.
“I just noticed everyone is in a couple here but us three.” she redirected their attention to Dahlia and Ralph.
Ralph smiled getting a hold of Dahlia and Payton’s hand pulled them closer. “Why don’t we just be a trouple.” he nudged both the girls while the two couples broke off laughing.
Payton and Dahlia at the same time freed their hands from the guy, Dahlia shook her head not approving at it all. “You two be a couple. I’m not at all single.” she spoke.
“So you’re now dating Haley?” Dixie asked, everyone was in fact too curious now. Dahlia shook her head no once more, she never dated and didn’t plan on it.
“Commitment issues!” Keelin coughed, looking all directions but at her. Dahlia glared at the boy about to back herself up but Amber cut in. “That’s actually true Keelin. She’s head over heads for her but she won’t admit she is committed to Haley. You guys are dating.” she addressed Dahlia.
“That’s not at all true, it just sleeping around.” She objected with all her heart.
Amber spoke once more, everyone else just listening to the two. “Have you slept with anyone else but Haley since you started sleeping with her?” Dahlia shook her head no looking to the ground. “Exactly. You want her to be more than that, you found peace in her alone that’s why you are not messing with other girls.”
Dahlia knew there was a bit of true in her friends words, she simply just sighed letting her mind wonder off.
“Back to us. Can you hook us up, even if it’s just a one night stand.” Ralph spoke trying to get the conversation back on track. Payton looked at him with raised eyebrows, “You not me, I am not interested.” she corrected him.
Dixie focused her attention on Payton, clearing her throat she spoke. “When did you last have a relationship Payton.”
“When I was 16, it ended in the first month of the year, last year.” she nervously rubbed her palm on her chin. Everyone looked at her shocked, not even Ralph had been single that long.
“That was the last time you got some?” Keelin asked this time around, Payton shook her head disapproving. “I got some last of last year at the end, when I was still 16.”
“Two years!” Everyone blurted out in disbelief, it made Payton a bit more anxious and shy, she had stayed that long. “We need to get you laid, it’s a life or death situation.” Ralph spoke to everyone.
“I’m good guys honestly, don’t make a big deal out of it.” everyone ignored Payton randomly naming girls on the school campus.
Payton sighed looking at the other direction, shock came on her face once she saw the two figures approach them. “Holy shit...” she whispered to herself.
