The Hybrid and The Prince

Chapter 7

Alex's POV

Once I reached the bottom of the stairs, I headed to the dining room where everyone gathers for mealtime. I see everyone there just like I suspected but I don't want to cause a scene, so I just walk by to grab an apple before heading to the living room and watching some tv until everyone leaves for work or school.

"Good morning baby" my mom greets me walking towards me and I just hum a reply.

"What's wrong honey?" she asks looking worried.

"Is dad here?" I question changing the subject.

"No, he's still out at a meeting, why?"

"I just need to speak with him is all." I reply back vaguely. Not long after my dad walked through the door.

"Hey everything okay?" Dad asks looking between mom and me. I cannot believe how much they can read me and know just by looking at me that something is wrong, but I can't do the same. Does that make me a bad son? NO! They lied to me, they don't get to feel bad right now, I'm the one that has been lied to my whole life its bullshit!

"When were you going to tell me I'm one half of the prophecy?" I ask looking between them both trying not to yell because I really felt like yelling right now.

"What? How-?" mom begins but I stop her.

"When I asked you about it before you dismissed me when I asked about it and you're never like that with us, so I snooped and found the book in dad's office. And you don't get to be mad about that because you lied first" I express. "But what I don't know is what half of the prophecy I am" I add on.

"You're the hybrid" dad answers.

"That's impossible, I'm human" I remind them laughing not able to stop it "right mom?" I ask because neither of them are laughing with me.

"Lo siento mijo" (I'm sorry baby) she apologizes as tears began to stream down her face.

"What-" I couldn't even think right now, my brain was in overload. I was the hybrid but how? How did I become human?

"How am I human then?" I asked them.

"When you were a baby, I had been summoned to an Alpha meeting by King Malcolm, but I didn't know until it was too late what he had planned" dad began first.

"I stayed behind with you and your sisters to protect you but I.. failed" mom cried clutching dads' arm while reaching out for me.

"Mom..." it was so hard seeing her like this, I never realized how hard this was for her, for them both I can see the tears dad is so desperately trying to hold back threatening to fall any moment and it's breaking my heart...

"But what none of them knew is that they can't take away your powers, they merely locked them away the key to unlocking them is to find your mate, your other half" dad tells me looking like he knew something else I didn't.

"So, who is my mate? Do you know? How-what do I do to get my powers back?" I asked question after question as I began pacing thinking of all the different scenarios in my mind.

"Mijo calm down" (Baby). Mom forces me to stop pacing by placing her hands on my shoulders leading me to the couch to sit down.

"I don't know what it's going to take to get your powers back; just meeting, marking each other, or just mating I'm not sure son but I promise you I will help you find out" dad says making my face turn beet red at the mention of mating. This is definitely not something I ever imagined I would talk about with my dad, normally he would be the go-to person, but my situation is a bit different from Ashtons. Since Ashton is an alpha male, he will be the top no matter if his mate his male or female, but I've always known I was a bottom and being the hybrid won't change that which means mom is my person for advice since I will be the one carrying pups. And now my dream will finally come true I really do have a mate! I'm so excited to find him.

"Who is he!?" I exclaim looking at dad with pleading puppy dog eyes knowing he can't resist the puppy dog eyes.

"I don't know his name all I know is that he is the King's son, the FORMER king" dad stresses.

"But that's impossible King Malcolm killed all living relatives and heirs of the former king" mom says looking unconvinced.

"That's what I believed as well but apparently the King and Queen had two sons, twins they had one who was to take over the throne while the other was hidden to protect him as well as allow him to live a normal life" dad tells us what he found out so far.

"How do you know?" I question him.

"When I found out there was a chance of you being able to recover your powers, I sent Kegean out to search for your mate and after four years this is what he discovered but he couldn't find out who exactly it is because whoever hid him didn't want him to be found although I promise you, I will find him" dad finishes.

"No, WE will" I let him know that he's no longer in this alone "together as a family" I finish looking at mom as well.
