Chapter two

I stared scared out the window me and my brother looking at the horse of zombies banging on the door, the sounds of moaning and shuffling feet. Warm piss ran down my leg, and I felt as if my heart shuddered to a stop. I moved unsteadily to check on my mother she was gripping her bedsheet with fear her knuckles pale and clammy, her red hair plastered to her forehead, she was getting sicker. “Mum do you need some water”, I asked uncertainly. She shook her head still clutching the sheets, her brown eyes more milky than ever. “Save the water we will need it”. I nodded feeling scared and small inside just like a little girl and not brave at all. Fear cuts sharper than swords I reminded myself, I forced my face into a smile and stroked my mothers hair. “We’ll be alright mum”, I lied. “I hope so Eveline”, she whispered Horsley. Her eyes began to close so I left her and walked unsteadily towards the lounge room, my brother was barring the windows and he kept back with a scream as the infected banged there head against the window snarling. “f**k”, he seethed. I scowled disproved “No swearing”. He looked at me annoyed “Who cares about swearing there is a horde of zombies out there we need to get out somehow”. I wrapped my arms around my form thinking hard. “The back way”, I suggested. He snickered rubbing a worn hand across his face. “That way is trapped as well I checked we’re surrounded”. “Oh no”, I whispered. “Yeah”, my brother agreed numbly. I paced around the room thinking hard. “Maybe we could somehow fight through them”” “You stupid we’ll get eaten and what about mum”. I sighed reliving he was right “We’ll wait it out”. ANGEL “People are urged to stay indoors the infected are extreme dangerous lock all doors and windows”. “It’s like the v virus”, my dad said. “Something seems to have come very close to us there shutting the borders and urging vaccines”. I sat on the couch my legs crossed feeling numb all over I had no idea how this virus was spreading but rumours were like wildfire I turned on my phone and went on social media. “AGGH there coming it’s the end of the world”. I saw the footage of a woman running in the city fires all around and the loyd drone of helicopters and clogged up roads, it was crazy, heads being ripped off, blood splattered on the ground. Stomach lurching I turned off my phone, ding. “Have you heard the news”. I opened my friends text message answering immediately. It’s crazy the city is full of infected zombies I couldn’t believe I said it, having stared hours watching walking dead should have told me zombies the answer to this virus and people dying all over. Zombies ?you think I know I typed back. Got to go I turned my phone on silent not wanting to text anymore it was too worrying. Most people were waiting for emergency vehicles n the news, and my brain tried to catch up to the news the virus was spreading like old fire. “We’re going”, dad said. “We’re are we going?”, I asked as more worries and questions filled my head. “Far up south away from this s**t your mum has friends there we can hole up a farm maybe get away from this s**t”. Fear and nerves was mixing with my racing heart and spikes of Andre double I knew this was urged and something bad was going on, I needed to stay calm, till we knew all the facts and wait. ***************
