1011 Words
William did not expect that this girl has the guts to boss him around. His mind was still processing their argument minutes ago but he suddenly turned alert in a snap when he saw Thalia plummeting down from the top where the sails must be tied. He run as fast as he can. Adrenaline rushes in his whole being as he tried to catch the falling lady. He climbed fast at the wooden mast that was used in going up to tie the sails. His body heated up and at the back of his mind, he was cursing a hundred times. He was in the mid-way when Thalia safely landed at the place where he was taking a hold. He tried to breath a lungful of oxygen as his worries subsided but his anger suddenly kicked-in. “Why did you jumped off from the top? Are you even thinking? Do you want to die huh? If you do, not here in my ship damn it!!!!” he was fuming mad. His eyes darted on her as if it shoots daggers and will instantly kill her on the spot. “Oh sorry Captain! Just needed some work out. Don’t worry, I always do that and I never fail even with my eyes close. Why? Did you worry about me? Hahahaha!” Thalia laughed and William’s face turned crimson. But suddenly, a strong wind blown and the captain loosed his firm grip. As a result, the whole pillar shook and Thalia slipped foot. The crew below become worried as the two fall. But William was way quick. He grabbed Thalia on the waist. They both landed on the cloth that the crew opened wide. All of them fell silent after that event. As the captain caught his breath again, he quickly rose and grabbed her by the wrist. They both descended until they reached the room that she recognized so soon. “Damn! What did you think and you jumped off from the top of the mast? You are insane.” He said disbelievingly. Huffing most of the time. Thalia felt small and weak as she saw him so mad. She started to tremble but she tried to appear as if she was never affected at all. “I never told you to go up there and catch me. It’s not my fault. And I am not wishing to die because if I did, I will not use the rope as my reins. I will just jump off from your ship Captain.” She tried to compose herself as she spoke. She let out a sigh after finishing her sentence. “But still, what you did was dangerous. Who would have known your plan? And you are ruining the balance of my ship and my commands on the crew. From now on, you will never get on the sundeck. You stay here until we reach the land.” William marched out of the room and Thalia just heard a clicking sound. And that only means that she is locked up inside that room with no windows at all. A few minutes later, she began to face back and forth inside the small room. “Did he just locked me up here? Oh that twerp of a Captain! YES, I did not told him about me jumping off but is he that shallow for him to think I want to die? And he is really annoying and unreasonable.” She looks like a mad woman talking to herself or more likely, a woman who monologues’. “Gosh! This is really boring and suffocating. There are even no windows in here. And it is not his business if I wanted to die if ever. He could just feed me to the sharks here in the Pacific Ocean.” She sat on the cushioned bed. And with that she fell asleep. Thalia woke up when she heard the door creak. It was Jim followed by two other men who entered. With a wooden box, a bucket and her bag. The two hurriedly left leaving her and Jim on the room alone. “Missy, this are dresses for you so that you can change. It has complete toiletries and that is a bucket of water for you to bathe in and here is your bag. We will give you your dinner later as what the captain has commanded us.” “Will he really not let me out of here?” She sounds almost pleading as she spoke. Boredom is really killing her. “I’m sorry missy. But that was the captain’s orders. Get rest.” And with that Jim get out of the room and locked it. She just stared at the bucket of steamy water and decided to take a bath. The warm water runs over her skin and it soothed all her sores. She gently rubbed the sweet smelling soap all over her body. But she noticed the absence of shampoo however there was a bottle of a sweet smelling substance that she thought were mixed essential oils for the hair. She took the right amount and massaged it on her scalp. And later washed clean. As she towel-dry her wet skin, she noticed a vanity mirror in the corner. She stared at her reflection and she saw her cuts and bruises slowly fading. She searched her first aid kit on her bag and applied ointment on the affected areas. She then headed towards the wooden box and she was shocked to see the clothing present inside. There were corsets and gowns. But she saw a simple dress there and decided to wear it instead of the long gowns. She again sat on the bed and started to busy herself checking the things on her bag. She tried to use the tool that Ellie gave her and she was so amazed of the result. It was indeed a survival tool. The darkness started to dominate the day and soon there were men who collected the things she used in bathing. One of them carried a tray with food on it. As soon as they disappeared, she started to eat the foods on the plate.
