Chapter 16

*** Raelynns POV****

Now that everyone has finished their meals and plates have been cleared the Pack Hall is almost a mad house. Everyone is laughing music is playing and some are starting to dance. It’s a beautiful site to see but I can’t help but want to run off and just lay in bed. I start to feel goosebumps rise on my skin when I realize someone is behind me. Before I can turn and see who it is I hear Brandon whisper in my ear asking me to dance. A shiver goes up my spine hearing the deepness of his voice mixed with his warm breath on my ear. I just smile and nod not being able to speak in fear I say something stupid. I go to stand up shoot back my drink and take his hand as we head down to the dance floor. Once I step one foot on the floor I’m pulled quickly into Brayden. As he starts to move the song fades out and Spin You Around by Morgan Wallen starts playing and I I can help with red that comes to my cheeks. I’ve always wanted to dance with somebody to this song and I hear Meagan through mind link say your welcome. I scoff not realizing it’s out loud and Brayden tenses up a bit. I just look up at him and smile trying to convey that it wasn’t about him.

B: You know Raelynn I mean what I said earlier you do look very beautiful tonight. I could see you were getting in your head and know you are probably feeling guilty enjoying your self. So I figured I take you to dance and get that mind to clear up some so we are gunna dance for a few songs till it settles.

R: Thank you Brayden but if you are gunna do that you better start doing some twist and turns and make it a bit of a challenge.

With that we start dancing faster with all sort of dips, twists, and spins. Better than being pressed up against him right now cause it’s going to look creepy if I just keep inhaling his sent. I feel like it’s slowly getting stronger and stronger. But through all of it his eyes never leave mine and I don’t even realize the people dancing around us. As the song ends he’s dips me super low our lips almost touching. He brings me up and back in to him ready to again start for the next song. I have to put some space between us I’m getting over stimulated and my head ache is getting worse.

R: That dance helped a lot and I do want to keep going but my head is killing me and I really need to sit back down.

B: That’s alright I’ll send for some medicine to see if it helps.

With that I walk towards the table to take my seat and he disappears in the crowd. As I sit wait for Brayden to come back with some advil I look up at the clock and my jaw drops. It’s almost midnight I look over and see Meagan rubbing her temples like she has a headache too.

R: Aunt Daphnie I almost forgot with everything going on it’s almost midnight Meagan and I are about to shift. When midnight strikes we turn 18!!

Before she can even respond I get up and go over to Meagan to check on her she will be the first to shift since she was born first. I see in Ed’s eyes that he realizes it to his eyes glaze over mind linking. Suddenly a pack wide mind link goes out to get to Stars Grove two members were to have their first shift. Aunt Daphnie tells us to come with her we head up stares to change into something loose that we don’t care about and to grab a bathrobe to cover up with after. We quickly change grab what we need and hurry behind our Aunt as she leads us to Stars grove. It’s 11:55 when we finally get to the grove and it’s beautiful honestly that’s an understatement meant. Trees like the area with small white flowers blooming from them, the grass is green and super lush between my toes, and the pond water is so clear the way the stars reflect in it looks like you could reach in and grab one. We gather next to Brayden as he’s addressing the pack telling them at we are the ones to have our first shift and no better place than the spot blessed by the moon goddess. Before he finishes his speech I hear Meagan let out a scream and crumble to the ground and Aunt Daphne is already there to talk her through it. I can start to see her fur sprouting and her bones cracking then I fall to my knees. I’ve never heard such a scream come out of my mouth but this pain is like nothing I’ve ever felt. I start to hear Brayden talking to be lowly and his sent fill my senses I look up at him and our eyes go wide.

B: MINE!

R:MATE!

Before we can say anything more my bones start breaking to form my wolf. After what feels like forever it’s over I look over and see Meagan still hasn’t shifted. WTF she should be fully shifted and I see Brayden wide eyed and the whole pack gasps.

A: Hello Raelynn it’s so great to finally meet you I’m Arya your wolf but there’s time for introductions later and talks later. I want our mate to come out and play.

Great my wolf is already a horn dog and she hasn’t even been here for 2 minutes. Brayden is already rubbing the fur on the side of my neck feeling my silky coat. I can’t take my eyes off him or even move but he tells me to go look in the pond before he shifts. I look over to see Megan fully shifted her wolf’s coat is almost fire engine red I’ve never seen anything like it the tips of her ears and her paws are white. I take some wobbly steps towards the pond and look down to see my self. My coat almost looks solid black the tips almost so black the look green, right between my ears is a almost shiny emerald green crescent moon with with vine like lines wrapping down to the bottom of my eyes, and my eyes aren’t their normal green they are basically white. Now I’m starting to see why everyone gasped I’ve never even seen a wolf with such markings or colors. I turn to see Meagan has a white crescent moon in the same place as mine.
