“Trin, I need to get going. The pack is waiting,” I murmured gently, my fingers carding through her silky hair. “Can we talk about this some more tonight? I hate leaving you this way.”
“Yeah… we can do that,” she whispered, her face still nestled against my chest.
Neither one of us moved, each still desperately clinging to the other. There were so many things left unsaid between us, and that terrified me, but when Trinity was in my arms, everything felt right with the world.
I didn’t want to let her go- couldn’t let her go. If she refused to come back to Vegas with me, her absence would kill me like a slow working poison. I couldn’t fathom how Eisen had done it. I wasn’t strong enough to watch my mate walk away from me.
