Ashna's POV
I covered my face with a black cloth while roaming Wild Midnight Claw's territory.
I am careful not to look at someone's eyes because they might recognize me.
Amid the crowd, a strong scent of vanilla filled my nose.
"Tobias," I blurted out and followed where the scent came from.
I saw hope when I saw a man that stands 6 ft tall, with dark hair, and tanned skin in the middle of the crowd.
Without any hesitation, I walked towards him but before I could even reach him someone pushed me and I fell on the ground.
The black cloth that covers my face fell and the mark of Crimson Claw was exposed.
"Enemy!" a man shouted while pointing at me.
"A rival entered our territory!" one shouted and the first thing I did was to cover my tummy.
"What's happening here?" Tobias' baritone voice filled my ear.
Everyone bowed their head to him and gave him a way to pass through.
"This woman has a mark of Crimson Claw, Alpha Tobias," a man politely responded.
"Show your face woman," Tobias commanded so I slowly lifted my head that was bowed on the floor.
When our eyes met I knew he felt a strong connection between us.
"Mate?" he blurted out.
The crowd gasped and I heard murmurs especially when Tobias picked me up from the ground.
"Kill her! Kill the enemy! Kill her!" the crowd shouted in unison but the loud growl of Tobias made them quiet.
"I get to decide what would I do with this woman," he firmly uttered, and that made everyone fall silent. I could feel everyone's fear so no one dared to speak instead they bowed their heads showing respect for the decision made by their Alpha.
He walked away from the crowd carrying me in his arms. I buried my face in his chest and I felt safe when I felt his warmth.
After a while, I felt my body being laid on the soft mattress and upon opening my eyes his blazing red eyes welcomed me.
"I showed up in your territory as I promised but it seems like your pack won't welcome me as their Luna," I tried to joke but I guess it didn't work.
I saw his jaw clenched while staring at my face intently as if he was mad or something.
It looks like he isn't happy to see me here.
"I didn't tell you my name at our first meeting so let me introduce myself. I am Ashna Refia, daughter of Alpha Remus Refia of Crimson Claw,"
I felt hopeful that he would accept me but his reaction tells me the opposite.
His claw came out as if he was ready to attack me but something stopped him...probably our bond.
After a while, he let out a deep breath to calm himself.
"Stay here and wait for my return," I nodded my head obediently and watched him as he left the room.
When I am all alone I caress my tummy and smile.
"Do you think he will accept us, Sierra?" I asked my wolf.
'He is our mate, of course, he will accept us,' Sierra confidently answered and I hope she is right.
Tobias' POV
My wolf is happy seeing her but some part of me loathes her existence.
Her pack is the reason why my parents died. Her father, Remus Refia killed my parents.
I spend my life thinking of ways to make them pay and maybe killing their daughter is a great idea.
'He is your mate,' Zeev, my wolf reminded me.
"I will reject her. I won't accept an enemy as my Luna," I uttered with finality.
I mind-linked my beta, Damian and after a few minutes, he was standing in front of me.
"Call everyone, I want them to witness how I humiliate and reject our enemy," I commanded coldly.
"But she is your mate," he said as if he was against my idea.
I looked him straight in the eyes. "She is an enemy Damian,"
"Yes Alpha Tobias," he responded.
After dismissing Damian I headed back to the room where I left Ashna. I saw her sleeping on the mattress. I quietly sat on the edge of the bed and stared at her angelic face.
She has long wavy hair that made her skin even paler.
She has long and curly lashes, a small nose that compliments her features, and soft pink lips that make her, even more, look angelic...and fragile.
'Are you sure you can reject her?' Zeev asked while my eyes were directed at Ashna.
"I have to," I responded then let out a deep breath before stepping out of her room.
I headed towards the assembly hall where Wild Midnight Claw gathered.
They all bowed their head when I entered the room.
"Bring Ashna here," I told Damian and without any question he obeyed.
After a few minutes of waiting Ashna is now tied to a chair in front of my pack.
"Kill her! Kill her! Kill her!" they shouted.
I hushed them down and stood in front.
"Ashna Refia, daughter of Alpha Remus Refia of Crimson Claw is my mate," I started and everyone listened to my every word.
I faced Ashna and when our eyes met I saw tears forming in the corner of her eyes.
I could feel her pain and fear but I acted fine and ignored it.
"I, Alpha Tobias Wagner of Wild Midnight Claw reject you Ashna Refia of Crimson Claw," I uttered without tearing off our gaze.
Tears fell from her eyes.
"Please don't do this," she begged pain evident in her tone. I could feel my wolf getting mad at me but I remained strong and didn't show an ounce of pity to Ashna.
"I left my pack for you. I abandoned my family to be with you. You promised me, Tobias. You f*****g promise me that your pack will accept me as their Luna!" she shouted with her voice filled with anger.
"That's because I didn't know that you are the daughter of an Alpha who killed my parents," I responded. Shock is written on her face. I bet her father didn't tell her how he cruelly took my parent's life.
She fell silent for a while but I saw how rage replaced her pain.
"You will regret this! I will make you pay!" she coldly uttered her tone laced with anger and for the first time, I felt fear.
"I will make sure you will regret rejecting me, Tobias,"
