Winter's POV (Age-8) "Why are you still angry?" Mom asked me with a concerned voice. I angrily looked at my mom and said, "Why did you not scold Justin and Summer for bullying me?" Mom looked at me with warmth in her eyes and said, "Winter, you are a big girl now. You have to understand that Justin is not only the Alpha's son, but he is the future Alpha and maybe someday he will be your Alpha too." Mom smiled at me mysteriously. Honestly, I don't understand what mom says most of the time. I looked at her suspiciously and said, "He will never be my alpha." Mom's smile froze and said 'We will see about it later princess, and why are you always arguing with Summer? She is your cousin. Stop arguing with her all the time. Summer lost her father recently. You should try to be friends with her." I know my uncle died recently and that's why Aunty Karen and Summer lived with us. But she always bullies me and Justin always supports her. I don't know why, but after Summer came to live with us in this Pack, Justin always supported her. And Father always scolds me and pampers her. If people did not know that I was my father's daughter then they mistakenly think that Summer was his daughter. And now mom is here to talk with me about today's incident. I looked at mom and asked, 'Mom, when will aunt Karen and Summer leave?' Mom looked at me with a complicated expression and said ' Aunty Karen is your uncle's wife, and now she has lost her husband, and she has no place to go. That's why she and Summer are here to live with us". Aunty Karen was my father's sister-in-law and Summer was his niece, but after my uncle's death , my father brought them back to our park and our house. Honestly, I don't like Aunty Karen and Summer. Aunty Karen talked politely in front of my parents but when we were alone, she scolded me and even called me a spoiled brat. I told them about it. My father said that Aunty Karen could not do that kind of thing. And I falsely accuse her. I am just eight years old. How could I falsely accuse someone? I also told about it to my mother , and she said maybe she was stressed. That's why she scolded me. She was an elderly person, and she lost her husband and I should forgive her. Justine supported Summer in school and said I was the one who bullied her, but the truth was that mother and daughter both bullied me. I don't know why? I never harm them and when they come first in our pack I welcome them wholeheartedly. I always wanted a sister. When I heard that Summer would live with us, I was so happy. I thought, finally, I had got a sister who would always play with me . But now I sighed. My mom looked at my troubled expression and said with a polite smile, ' Don't pressure your brain so much, princess. I will talk to your aunt and Summer." I looked at her polite expression, though I doubted that they would listen to your word and my father would always support them, but still I smiled. And nodded. I don't want my mother to get tense about it. She looked at me with a smile and said, "Now common, I make pastry for you. Let's eat." Hearing the word pastry, my eyes sparkled and I smiled. My mom's pastry is my favorite dish. When I was angry with her, she always makes pastry and I forgot my anger. "Diana, what do you make?" Aunty Karen said with a smile. "Wow, aunt! I love pastry too," Summer chimed in. She sat down in front of me and snatched pastry from my plate. I looked at her with shocking eyes and then looked at my mom. My mom then signaled me to keep quiet. My aunt sat beside Summer and then my dad came and sat resite my aunty. My mom served them food. They looked like real family. My moon looked at my dad and asked, "What did Alpha say in the meeting?" My father was a beta and second in command. He always followed orders from our Alpha. My father looked at my moon and said with serious expression, "We will prepare for war?" "War!" my mother said with a shocked expression. This time, my aunt was shocked too. Summer looked at dad with her shocking eyes too. I have known in the past several years, we had tension in our pack. I asked mother about it, but she did not tell me, but I heard her arguing about it with my father and that's why I know who we will fight! Vampire! Vampires killed lots of werewolves in our clan. In fact they also killed my uncle too. My father hates them very much. I glanced at Summer and aunt Karen and they both looked at each other. The atmosphere was silent for some time. Before anyone could say anything, my mother's panicking voice filled the silence. "War!? Why War? We have lost lots of our people because of this war and you guys still want to make war?" My father angrily slapped the table and said, "We have lost so many people from our clan, what do you want? Should we retreat like cowards?" Tears filled my mother's eyes, and she said, "I don't mean to say that. I just want to say that we lost lots of our people because of this war. I just don't want to lose anyone else". She looked at me with teary eyes. My aunt cried and said, "So, sister wants to say that we should forget our pain and flee like cowards? I lost my husband and Summer lost her father because of them. Do you want us to forget about that too?" My mother panicked and shook her head and said," I don't mean." Before my mother completed the sentence, my father scolded my mother and ordered, " Shut up! I don't want to hear another word from you!" then he comforted my aunt. I looked at my mom, and she looked at their retreating back with sad eyes. My father always makes my mom upset. I gave her a small smile, and she smiled back and said, "It's late, let's go to bed. You have to go to school tomorrow". I took my mother's hand and go to bed. My mom gave me a warm smile and said, "Good night princess. " I smiled back and said, "Good night mama and I love you." She smiled and said, "I love you more." In the middle of the night, I woke up and heard loud voices. I came near my door and put my ear on the door and try to listen. I heard loud noises. I am startled, try to open my door, but my door is locked. I called my mother but she didn't reply. I looked at the window and tried to open it. My window opened and I jumped. My bedroom was on the first floor. So, I do not hurt myself. My eyes wide in shock when I looked at the scene infront of me. There was lots of blood, and lots of dead bodies. Those people lived in the pack and some of them were my friends' parents. 'What the hell is happening here?' I thought, and then I remembered about my mother. I searched for my mother, but I did not find her. Suddenly, I saw a person's face was close to another person's neck. I narrowed my eyes and thought 'what was he doing? ' Suddenly, my leg collided with a branch and made a noise and suddenly that person looked at my direction. My eyes were wide seeing that person's red eyes and long teeth and long nails. And there was blood in his mouth. And he looked at me intently. I looked there shockingly and looked at him, panicking. My eyes suddenly open. I was sweating and I took heavy breathing. I looked at my surroundings and understood that I was seeing a nightmare again.
