"Sir, your coffee," Hestia said, then placed the cup of coffee on Raven's table.
He looked at her and at the coffee she brought. "You can have it. What time is my first meeting?" he asked before grabbing his coat and wearing it.
"It's at 9 am, Sir," she answered.
"Good, and after that?" he asked again as he was already near the door.
"After that, Sir. Nothing, but your next meeting will be this afternoon at 2 pm," she replied as if she already knew Raven's schedule for the day.
"Good. Move my 9 am meeting to 11 am. I'll be going out. I'll be meeting with Glen this morning and I'll have breakfast outside the office. I'll be back before 11 am so you take care of things here. If someone comes and wants to have something signed, just keep it and I'll sign it later."
Hestia nodded in response to Raven's instruction. "Alright, Sir. I'll take care of it. Take care, Sir," she said, but Raven didn't respond and quickly left the office.
She looked at the coffee she brewed and took it back to the pantry, then added some sugar because she liked her coffee sweet and creamy. It would be a waste if she threw away the coffee, considering that her boss' brand of coffee was expensive and the cafeteria's coffee was also of high quality. Many employees would spend money just to have coffee, so who was she to waste it?
As she sipped her coffee, she focused on her boss' schedule. Some employees came to the office to have Raven sign some documents, but as he suggested, she took the documents and reviewed them for him. Even if he didn't explicitly say to separate the urgent from the non-urgent, she did it anyway. She reviewed each one and separated the documents for employee promotion and for interviews that were sent by HR earlier. It's too bad that Sandra didn't come to deliver them, as she would have liked to tease her some more.
It had been two weeks since she was hired as her boss' secretary. And within those two weeks, she witnessed how her boss operated in the office. Not only that, but also the people surrounding her boss.
Raven was a low-key boss. Immersed in work and truly hardworking. He didn't delegate tasks to others even though he was the boss. Aside from knowing that he was the eldest child of the Salazar couple and that his younger sibling was still a child, so he had no partner in running the business. His diligence and intelligence were the reasons behind the growth of the Salazar companies. But aside from that, she didn't know much about her boss.
Yes, he was strict when it came to work, but as long as you did your job well, there was no problem. But it had only been two weeks, and she knew there was still a lot she would learn about him. She would get to know him better and when she did, her job would be easier.
Hestia smiled as she sorted the documents. She realized that she was lucky because her boss was kind. Although he was quiet and rarely talked to her, she was thankful because he was easy to talk to and not arrogant like other bosses she had interviewed with for jobs that she didn't get.
She raised her eyebrows when she heard a knock on the door. When she looked, she saw Ms. Kelly and Ms. Camille from the treasury. She noticed that they were often together and seemed close to each other.
She smiled at the two and stood up. "Hi, good morning, what can I do for you two? Are you looking for Mr. Salazar? Sorry, but—"
"Okay, Hestia. We understand each other. You're the one we're looking for," Kelly interrupted and approached her.
Hestia pointed to herself, seemingly puzzled. "Me?"
"Yes, you," Kelly said until Camille held her.
"Kels, stop it. I told you to give up already."
Kelly shook her head and looked at Camille. "No, it's better that Hestia and I clarify things. Yes, she's Raven's secretary, but Sir still belongs to me."
‘What? Does Sir Raven belong to her? Wait? So, Ms. Kelly has feelings for Sir Raven? So, this is what it's all about? That's why Ms. Kelly is always around the office.’
She smiled. She didn't expect that this kind of office romance was happening here. She wondered how many here in the office were in a relationship with their bosses. Were Ms. Kelly and Sir Raven even together? She wouldn't be surprised, especially since Sir Raven was a handsome man.
"Kelly, that's enough. So, what if she’s up to something with Sir, isn't that better than spreading rumors? It means that Sir likes women. You should be happy with that," Camille said, furrowing her brows.
"Wait? Do you like Sir?" she asked, and Kelly paused. "And what do you mean by 'up to something'?" she was confronted by Kelly and she stared at her.
"Yes, I have a crush on Sir. And you should know that," she said directly before sighing. "And about the rumors, we know... we know what you did for him to sign your cash advance. Seriously, I thought you were a decent employee and yet you did that. With Sir Raven, no less, and in his office."
‘What is this woman saying? What are they thinking?’
"Huh? What are you saying? I don't know anything about what you're saying," she denied, but it seemed that the two didn't accept that. "Okay, I admit... even I wonder why he signed it, especially since I knew it was obvious that I took a thick wad of cash. I know that's what you were thinking too. But I begged, I knelt in front of him and begged him not to fire me and then he gave it to me signed."
The two fell silent. They became silent and shook their heads. "You begged? Is that it? You didn't give him oral?" Kelly asked.
Hestia frowned. She didn't understand the last word she said. "What oral? What do you mean?"
The two looked at each other and laughed. Then Kelly approached her and whispered.
Her eyes widened when she heard what that word meant. She felt all her hair stand on end when she heard what they were thinking she did which made Sir Raven agree to sign her form.
"No! Oh my god! No! That didn't happen! Oh god, why did you even think I did that to Sir... dear god! The thought alone gives me goosebumps," she said, causing the two of them to stare at her.
"So, it didn't happen? You didn't do it with Sir? There was no s****l activity?" Kelly asked.
"No, there wasn't! Oh my god, don't repeat that filthy word," she scolded Kelly.
Camile chuckled and shook her head. "Looks like Hestia is still a virgin."
She raised an eyebrow.
‘What do they think of me? That I'm not a virgin anymore? Oh my god! What are these two thinking? Is this how people in New York are? Like it’s normal to experience s*x even before marriage?’
"Hey! All my holes are still virgins!" she said.
Following that, Kelly burst into tears, sobbing. She didn't know if it was tears of joy because it wasn't true that she did anything with Sir Raven. But tears filled her eyes.
"If that's the case...! It's not possible!"
She sighed, not being able to understand anymore. "You were upset earlier because you thought I was doing something with Sir. Now that I said there was no such thing, you're still crying? What is it this time?"
At that moment, Camile answered her. "Here's the thing. Where is Sir?"
"He's having breakfast with Sir Glen." As she said that, Kelly burst into tears again.
"This is it, Hestia. Here's the thing. There's a rumor going around the company that Sir Raven and Sir Glen are in a relationship. And when we thought that Sir took a liking to you and that you two did...," she paused upon mentioning that word because Hestia stopped her. "There, when we thought you did that, Kelly got hurt but she still hoped that Sir Raven would have feelings for a woman. But as you said, you didn't do it, so that means there is no hope. That Sir Raven is gay."
Her mouth gaped open and she couldn't believe what the two said. In the two weeks she had been here, it never crossed her mind. "Wait? What did you say? Sir Raven is gay?!"
