CHAPTER 2I taught evening classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It was an Introduction to Finance class, and many of my students were older people who had worked for years before deciding to go back to college and get a degree. In fact, most of my students were older than me. Before class, I would sit in my chair, looking out of the window, and as I was accustomed to doing, I would let my mind wander. I felt trapped at this job. I did it efficiently enough, but my heart was not in it. I let my mind wander like people do when they are in unhappy circumstances whose expiry date is yet unknown.
