Chapter 1: The Girl From The Mountain
Se-kyung lived a joyful life on a mountain with her father and her youngest sibling, Shin-Ae.
They were accustomed to household chores such as carrying firewood, chopping wood, and many other domestic tasks.
One day, while the young lady was walking, she saw a truck loaded with various fruits. She then noticed a man picking fruits and asked him how he discovered this place.
"Hello? Who are you? What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice laced with hesitation.
"Ah, me?" "I'm harvesting fruits here."
"And where are you taking those?"
"To Seoul. That's where I'll sell what I've gathered. Don't you recognize me? You've grown so much!"
"Huh?" "You know me?" she responded, surprised.
"Yes, I'm a friend of your father." "We were just talking earlier," he said with a chuckle.
After their conversation, the young lady quickly ran to her father.
"Dad!" "Dad!" she called out, running towards him.
"What is it, child?" his voice tense. "Is something wrong? Are the loan sharks here?"
"No, Dad," she said, catching her breath.
"Then what's the matter?" he asked, puzzled.
"There's a truck in front of our place." I spoke with the driver about where he was headed. "Do you know where he's going, Dad?" Her eyes lit up. "To Seoul! Can you believe it?" she exclaimed, jumping with joy.
"Really, sister? I miss Seoul. When can we go there again? "The food there is so delicious," said her younger sibling happily.
"Dad, we want to go there again," Se-kyung added.
Suddenly, their father's expression turned somber upon hearing their desire to visit Seoul.
"My children," I'm sorry, but we can't go to Seoul. "We can’t leave, children." "This is our home now," their father said, his tone final.
"Alright, Dad, it's okay," she replied, a hint of sadness on her face.
And they returned to their room and rested.
