THE DIVORCE

Emily's POV I allowed Zayn to lead me out of the place to the car. Throughout the walk, tears continuously fell from my eyes, each drop a reminder of the pain in my heart. "Emily, don't let his words hurt you. You know he gets angry easily and says things he doesn't mean," he attempted to comfort me, but nothing he said made me feel better. "Zayn, I understand Jasper better than anyone. Remember, people often speak the truth when they're angry, saying things they usually keep to themselves. So, don't ignore what's said in anger." My voice was barely above a whisper, the weight of my realization heavy on my chest. Zayn remained silent after that and helped me to the car, opening the door for me. I got in and sat in the backseat, my hands trembling. I watched as he went to the trunk and returned shortly with a first aid kit. The sight of it brought a fresh wave of tears. "You hurt your hands trying to save Ivy. You still haven't asked for medicine. Are you being silly?" Zayn scolded me gently, taking my hand and applying ointment to it. The coolness of the ointment was a stark contrast to the burning pain in my heart. The medicinal smell filled the car, sharp and almost sterile. "This pain is nothing compared to the pain in my heart, Zayn," I said, hanging my head low to hide my tears. Zayn sighed, his concern evident. "I never thought Jasper would chase after her even with you in his life. Don't worry, he won't leave you. He'll always be yours." He tried to make me feel better, but I pulled my hand away when he finished. "He was never mine, Zayn. Even when Ivy wasn't in his life, his heart was always with her. It's like she took his heart with her. Have you seen him this happy in years? No, right? How could he be happy when his heart wasn't with him?" My voice was about to break into tears. "Don't be sad, Emily. No one can replace you. You're our Luna. You always will be. Trust the Moon Goddess. She'll make everything right." He patted my head, closed the door, and sat in the passenger seat. Then we drove straight to the mansion. I'm not sure what Jasper wants, but I know Ivy isn't planning anything good. She openly said she wants to take Jasper away from me. What should I do now? Life can be unexpected. I used to tell Luna Sandra to leave her partner if he liked someone else. But now I see how tough it is to leave your partner. It's easy to give advice, but you only realize how hard it is when it's your own situation. ****** "Gamma, Andrew. Are you lying to me? Is Ivy with Jasper inside?" I asked angrily because he was blocking me from entering Jasper's cabin. The doorframe felt cold under my hand, a stark contrast to the warmth of my anger. "No, Luna. Trust me. He's in a meeting with a client. That's why I'm keeping you out," Gamma Andrew explained, his voice steady but eyes shifting slightly. "Gamma Andrew is being honest, Emily." A gentle voice spoke from behind me. I didn't need to look to know who it was. Gianna stood in front of me, smiling sweetly, her perfume overly sweet and cloying. "Gamma, Andrew. Please give us a moment," she said to him in a very sweet voice, and he walked away. Then Ivy looked me over from head to toe. "I don't see why you think you're so special. You're not meant to be with Jasper. You're just a mistake, nothing important. You don't have a family, you're not from a good family, and you're not as pretty as me." Ivy tossed her hair back, acting confident. It was really annoying me. Her smug smile was like a knife twisting in my heart. "There's no need to compare you to me. My servants are prettier than you. You're not even good enough to be a servant in my house, let alone become the Luna of the Moon Shadow pack." My hands clenched into fists as I tried to stay calm. "Why did you think you could replace me? Do you understand the concept of status? It's not something just for someone like you. I suggest you aim lower, you're not fit for something so high. Jasper belongs to me." That was the last straw for me, and I lost control. I slapped her hard, and she fell to the ground. Unfortunately, at that moment, Jasper stepped out of his room and saw Ivy on the floor. "Ivy!" Jasper quickly ran to her and helped her stand up. Then he gave me a threatening look. "What's wrong with you, Emily? Why are you treating her so badly?" Jasper shouted at me, very angry. His voice echoed in the hallway, cold and harsh. "She was saying awful things about me," I shouted back. "That's enough! I don't want to hear any more from you. Is this really the Emily I know? I don't think so. When did you become like this? This is my office. I don't want any trouble here. We'll discuss this at home. Please, just go home. I know you won't disobey me." Tears started to well up in my eyes, blurring my vision. I didn't notice I was crying until Beta Zayn told me not to. "Why doesn't he see her real self, Zayn? She acts all nice around him but always finds ways to put me down." I started crying when we stopped at the car. "She always acts this way. She's like a dangerous snake. It's best to avoid her. I know what she's like. But Jasper never believes anything bad about her. I've tried to show him she's not a good person, but he won't listen. He loves and trusts her completely." I felt my heart break inside my chest because he trusted her more than me, his own partner. I went to see him to fix our relationship since he didn't come home last night. I wanted to apologize so he wouldn't be upset with me anymore. I can't stand him ignoring me; it hurts too much. But things just got worse between us. I don't know how to fix everything or make him believe that I didn't intentionally try to hurt Ivy. How can I convince him that I didn't do anything wrong? I was really looking forward to Jasper's arrival in the living room. It was ten-thirty-five pm. I had made all of Jasper's favorite meals, but they got cold because he hadn't shown up yet. I was getting sleepy, but then I heard a car scratch outside, which meant Jasper was home. I hurried to the door and saw him coming towards me. I was really happy to see him, but he didn't even look at me. He just went straight to the sofa without acknowledging me. I gathered my courage and gave him a glass of water like I usually do. The glass felt cool against my trembling fingers. He gulped the water and placed the empty glass on the table before him. “You must be tired, go get freshen up, while I reheat the food.” Saying that quickly I turned to leave for the kitchen but my next move halted in mid-air when I heard his voice. “Stop there Emily. We need to talk.” My heart almost stopped sensing the tension in the air. I turned to him holding my breath and found him in a serious mood. “Please, sit down.” Jasper motioned me to take the seat across from him so I sat there like an obedient wife. He sighed, looked at me and said “Let's get a divorce.”
