With kingdoms demanding blood and betrayal lurking behind every throne, Aurelia and Darius must decide whether love is worth sacrificing everything they have ever known. In a world where destiny is written in blood and loyalty is tested by war, one forbidden bond may be the only hope of ending a conflict that has lasted for generations or the spark that plunges both kingdoms into total ruin.

Prologue
Long before humans claimed kingdoms as their own, two immortal races ruled the earth. The werewolves and the vampires. They were not creatures born from myths. They were the first children of the gods. The Moon Mother created the werewolves beneath a silver sky, gifting them unmatched strength, unwavering loyalty, and the instinct to protect all that was sacred. They thrived beneath the full moon, their packs bound together by honor and blood. In the depths of darkness, the Blood Father created the vampires, breathing life into them with flames that danced and flickered. He gifted them with stunning beauty, sharp intelligence, and the incredible power of immortality. With these gifts, the vampires built breathtaking kingdoms, hidden from the mortal world, where strength and power were the ultimate currencies, and weakness was a distant memory, lost beneath the surface of their eternal lives. For centuries, the two races lived apart. Then pride gave way to suspicion. Suspicion became hatred. Hatred became war. Generations were born knowing only one truth. A werewolf should never trust a vampire. A vampire should never spare a werewolf. The battlefield had become as familiar as home. On the day history changed, the sky was stained crimson as the armies clashed beneath a dying sun. Steel rang against steel. Wolves roared. Vampires screamed. The earth shook beneath thousands of warriors fighting for a victory neither side could truly claim. Princess Aurelia stood at the front of the werewolf army. The only child of the Werewolf King. The future of her people. Her sword sliced through the mayhem, its silver blade glinting in the light. She fought with fierce determination, as if the weight of an entire kingdom rested on her shoulders. Her armor was stained with blood, but most of it didn’t belong to her. It was a grim reminder of the battles she had fought and the lives lost beneath the chaos. She refused to retreat. Not while her warriors still stood. A vampire soldier lunged from behind. She turned too late. A sharp blade cut through her side, stealing her breath. Pain exploded through her body. Another attack forced her backward until she stumbled beneath the trees at the edge of the forest beside the battlefield. As she leaned against a tree, the sounds of war slowly faded into the distance. She reached for the wound with a trembling hand, her breathing uneven. Her healing would come, but not fast enough. She found refuge inside the crumbling ruins of an ancient stone temple swallowed by vines and time. Moonlight slipped through the broken ceiling, casting pale light across cracked pillars older than either kingdom. For the first time since the battle began, silence surrounded her. Then footsteps echoed through the ruins. Steady. Unhurried. Aurelia tightened her grip on her sword despite the pain. A tall figure emerged from the shadows, his black armor marked with the crimson crest of the vampire royal family. Prince Darius. Third in line to the Vampire Throne. An enemy. His deep crimson eyes settled on the blood soaking her side. Aurelia raised her sword. His hand came to rest on the hilt of his own. Neither spoke. Neither moved. One strike. That was all it would take. One death. That was all their kingdoms expected. Then Darius slowly pulled his hand away from the hilt of his sword. “You should leave,” he said quietly. Aurelia stared at him, certain she had misheard. “If my men find you here, you’re dead. They’ll kill you without hesitation.” “And yours?” she asked, her voice unsteady. “They’ll execute me for letting you live.” For a long moment, neither looked away. Beyond the forest, the battle still raged. Deep within the forgotten temple, however, something far greater than the war had begun to stir, hidden beneath ancient stone and centuries of dust. Not peace. Not trust. A choice. One that would one day change the fate of both kingdoms.
