Announcement and desicion

I was wakeing up at dawn. Like I always do. Cooked some eggs and sliced some bread and then headed to feed the animals and milk the cows. When i got back To The house, granny was in the kitchen too. It was the day we go to the village's market square and for me - it was the day to learn with Arthur. Those days were always my favorite.

I swallowed my breakfast hurridley and backed the carridge. We had to leave early. Granny was goming back home later, but i was going to stay with my uncle until the next time she was coming to the village. Something was happening, because she never let me stay for days. I didnt really care. I loved learning and training with Arthur. He was like a father to me.

He told me stories about mom and dad, his childhood living in grannys house and getting in trouble with my dad. It was bittersweet knowing dad only from the stories i heard. He had a kind heart and beautiful soul. Just like my mom.

We finally arrived to the Hati village square. I jumped off the carridge and kissed granny Elsa on the cheek, waving goodbye AS i ran towards my uncles hut.

Arthur lived at the border of Hati. He was mostly by himself. Did not like visitors much. When He needed Something, we provided for him or we traded for fur and meat. He never really needed our help. Arthur was once a great warrior for our king. I dont no much about his time in the service, he does'nt want to talk about it. I have heard from the villagers, that its because he found love in the battlefield. Amongst the enemy. I have no idea if its just the rumors, but i lack the courage to ask him.

Before even knocking i greet him with a smile on my face: "hy uncle! Missed me?"

Arthur steps out of the house: "hey, little one! How could i not miss you? You know its the best time for me when you are here." he said AS he hugged me.

"okay, enaugh with the politeness. Whats going on? Why am i here for days? Its unusual. Tell me."

Arthur lookes at me with serious expression:

"well, you will fond out anyway, I guess theres no point in delaying." he toon a seep breath "remember, when i said, that our king has gotten rid of all supernatural on our lands?" i nodded

"well, they are not willing to stay away. Instead they have a leader now. We are now at war - so the king need me to go back To battle. I have been summoned. Next time Elsa comes to Trade in the square, will be my last day home, before I must leave"

I was stunned. What does he mean? He cant go. He will die. I cant let him go. No. "Uncle, its isane. You have served your time. You cant go. Its so unfair! Who will teach me now?" i begged. I just cant lose him.

Arthur lookes at me with a hint of a smile :" hey girl. You know i wouldnt leave, if i had a choice. I can not ignore the kings calling."

" let me go Instead. Im young, im skillful and you know i can kick your ass AS well." i smiled with a cocky grin.

Arthur chuckled and replied:" i know how skillful you are and i know that fighting is a strange passioon of yours, AS is danceing. Unfortunally, girls are not allowed in human army. Even if i were to vouch for you, king would never accept a woman. He says they are fragile and depend on us and could never compare to stength and stategical thinking of a man"

I know, that men consider women to be vulnerable and stupid AS sheep, but I still hoped theres a way for me to be with my uncle and keep my eye on him and keep him safe. I was so distracted today. I forgot everything he told me about human and supernatural's history in a blink of an eye. I already knew about shape shifters, werewolves, vampires, earth witches, air witches, water lords, fire lords and two- spirited humans. Shape shifters could take the shape of anyone, by stealing their skin. Werewolves were pack animals and they were in touch with their wolves all the time. Vampires were quite rare and Hard to find. Uncle also told me that they were never vulnerable to sun or silver. They are just Hard to kill. Earth witches controlled the named element. AS well AS the lords. There has never been a witch to control fire or water. AS well AS never has a lord controlled earth or air. One witch or lord could rarely posess the ability of controlling both of the elements.

Spirited humans often did not know about themselves. It was because, their spirit half made an entrace when it wanted and when it showed itself it was always with you. It could have been anything - a mouse, a dog, fish or even Something rare like a phoenix, griffin or a unicorn. Two spirited were quie similar to werewolves. They just did not have the perks of belonging in a pack.

I did not know and did not even care, why the king hated them so badly. Uncle never told me. I dont even know if he knew himself.

After eternally seemed lessons we had a sparring sessioon. I was like a pumching bag today. I was just töö distracted and it made arthur angry, so we had a early dinner and i went to my room.

I could not take my mind off the posdibility of loseing my uncle. I thought long and Hard and decided to follow after him, disguised AS a man. Ohh, damn i dont really want to cut my hair..

I was going to follow him a day after. To not take any suspicion i was going to steal dads old robe and take his weapons. This was going to be a Hard act to but together, but i was going to do it for Arthur. Even if i fail, i had to try Something. Anything to see him safe and well.

When the day of my returning home came, i made a big scene of him betraying me. I scteamed, cryed and cursed my uncle, human race, myself and everything and everyone i could think of. Arthur looked at me with such disappointment and confusion that i knew they will both believe, i was heartbroken and upset.

When we got back home with granny, i locked myself in my room. I did not want to Hurt her by leaving, but i know she will manage. She can understand me better than anyone else. I packed all my fathers weapons and his robe. I wanted to leave in the middle of the night. I was getting out of my window, when i saw some dark shadows flashing in my peripheral vision.

I turned my eyes towards the movement and then I saw them. - Five massive wolves. Saliva dripping, when they flashed their teeth towards me. I was scared shitless and so worried about my granny.
