The ground was soft beneath the pads of my paws as I ran through the forest. My siblings Cassie and Molly trailing behind me. The trees blurred past me as I darted through the brush. I allowed my paws to take me down the familiar path to my favorite stream that flowed down from the mountains. The water was cleaner, more crisp than the water from the main river running through the small northern village on the outskirts of pack territory.
As I lowered my head to drink my sisters crashed through the brush, hopping and nipping at each other. The water went down my throat as I lapped at the crystal-clear water. When I felt my thirst had been satisfied, I turned to tell them to stop messing around, but they were gone. The forest around me turned dark like the sun had been snatched from the sky. My heart thundered in my chest. Using my nose I sniffed the air, looking for a sign of my sisters.
After barking a couple of times and not hearing any communication back, I frantically began to backtrack, looking for any sign of them. I was screaming, calling for them still with no answer. Their scent had disappeared from the air, and there was no sign of their tracks. Suddenly, a twig snapped behind me. I whipped around prepared for a fight but was greeted by the sight of an inky black cloud engulfing the forest, heading straight for me.
I turned, trying desperately to get away but something was holding me. Looking back the Leader Randall, was clutching onto my hind leg. I growled and struck at him with my teeth but it was no use, his hold on me was unbreakable. “You’ll never escape from me!” he roared as the black cloud overcame us both.
I awoke gasping for air. Scrambling out of bed I ran for the bathroom, emptying its contents into the toilet. My body trembled as I struggled to lift myself off the ground. Sweat dripped down my face even though I was freezing. Try as I might, all my strength seemed to be yanked out of me and I collapsed back to the ground. I could hear the sound of the door opening and Amelia screaming and crying, “Mommy, you okay? Mommy! Mommy sick!”
I felt a pair of arms lift me from the ground. The scent informed me that it was Mason who had me. “It’s okay, honey. I have to get your Mommy to the pack doctor, alright? So I’m gonna have to carry you too because we have to get there really fast,” he explained to her.
His kindness towards my daughter in a moment of stress and chaos, warmed my heart to him even more. Her own father never showed her that much patience or empathy. My body shifted, it felt like I was upside down. Perhaps he threw me over his shoulder so he could use his other arm to carry Amelia. He’s such a good dad, I thought before losing consciousness.
Everything was dark, the only thing I knew is that my clothes were gone, and I was lying on something cold. My ears strained to hear anything at all, but the only sound was the faint hum of electricity. My heart thundered in my chest. Where am I? I must get out of here, I thought. When I attempted to sit up my hands and feet were bound to the cold surface underneath me. I thrashed around the table in a feeble attempt at escape. There was no use I couldn’t move at all.
Then from behind me the sound of ragged breathing made my blood run cold. I screamed in protest but no sound came out. A hand touched my breast, but when I tried to wriggle away more began assault my body. Tears rolled down either side of my face as I continued my silent protests, hoping maybe this time my voice wouldn’t fail me. Every inch of my body was being groped, pinched or fondled. One of the hands slid inside of me probing inside my body. “Move,” I heard the Leader’s voice. “I want her holes first, then you can all have at it.”
I bucked and resisted but I was outnumbered. Each hand held my body down, guaranteeing the Leader’s success. “Time to see what’s so great about this stupid fox,” he taunted.
I could feel each finger digging into my skin, while the Leader moved on top of me. I felt a sharp pain in my core as he shoved himself inside of me. With each thrust he reached the end of me, slamming into my cervix over and over. I tried to cry out in pain, but no sounds could escape. The only thing my body would do was cry. Rough hands grabbed my breasts, squeezing tight. “Mason,” I finally managed to whisper.
“He’s dead,” the Leader growled in my ear. “I own you now.”
His teeth bit down on my flesh, marking me as his until one of us dies.
I sat up screaming, frantically pushing away at hands that were no longer there. The sensation was still on my skin. My hand tore at the tubes and wires connected to my body. “Woah, hey there. It’s okay Bethenny, I’m here,” Mason’s voice gently called to me.
I snapped my head in the direction of his voice and was greeted by a worried smile. Relief washed over me. It was a dream, but it felt so real, I thought. Mason reached for my hand slowly. Making sure to be careful not to make any sudden movements with my visibly shaken appearance. I laced my fingers with his.
Now that I knew I was safe, I took a moment to take in my surroundings. The walls were painted white. They were bare except for a dry erase board telling me the names of the doctor and nurses caring for me and a TV mounted to the wall. I was undoubtedly in the pack hospital. “Where is Amelia?” I asked.
“She’s just outside with Joshua and his grandmother Augusta,” he explained to me. “Would you like to see her?”
“Yes, but in a few minutes. I don’t want her to see me like this,” I said as I tried to rake my fingers through my hair. “What happened? The last thing I remember was passing out on the bathroom floor.”
