"Does your husband make you feel like this?"

The question came from Kade – college hockey captain, tattooed fingers, and the kind of rough I'd only ever dreamed about. His voice was flat, almost bored, even as he had me pressed against a bathroom wall three towns away from the man I'd promised to love forever.

I should have said no. I should have walked out.

Instead, I pulled him closer.

Now my husband is asking where I am. And I don't know if I can stop at just one night.

The best mistake
MIA POV “Trust me, nobody does it better than hockey college boys. Just pick any of them,” my friend Chloe said from beside me, her eyes scanning the crowd like she was shopping from a menu. We were three towns away from home, in a packed club crawling with the university's hockey team, and apparently I was about to make a decision I couldn't take back. “They're too young for me.” I pulled at the hem of my silk gown, suddenly aware of how short it really was. The fabric stopped right above my ass. One wrong move and I'd be flashing the entire room. “Who would even want me? I'm married. Let me just go back home and wait for my husband. What if he finds out?” “He won't. We're three towns away from home. He can't chase you down here.” Chloe grabbed my arm. “Let loose for once, Mia. You deserve a good time.” I'd come a long way to just pull back now. I was getting laid. Today. Not tomorrow. And my husband wouldn't find out. “Pass the drink.” “Now that's what I'm talking about.” Chloe winked and slid two shots into my hand. I downed them both. The club was packed with hockey players celebrating tonight's win. Jerseys everywhere—navy blue with white stripes, the university logo stretched across broad shoulders. Most of them had their vests off, shirts clinging to sweat-slicked skin, still riding the high of the game. Young, loud, full of themselves. “What about Lucas?” Chloe nodded toward a blonde guy across the room. Tall, lean, boyish smile. “He's been eyeing you since we walked in.” Cute. I didn't want cute. I wanted rough. My eyes moved past Lucas and landed on the back corner. He was sitting alone, a bottle of beer dangling from his fingers. His hockey jacket was unzipped, stretched tight across shoulders that looked like they'd been carved from stone. Tattoos sprawled across his knuckles, disappearing up his forearms. He wasn't jumping around like the rest of them. He just sat there, legs spread wide, taking up space like the room belonged to him. Like a king surveying his kingdom. The jacket he wore had the team logo on it, which was the only reason I’d have guessed he belonged here at all. Then he lifted his beer to his lips, and I watched his throat work as he swallowed. I couldn't look away. He looked devastatingly hot. Perfect jawline. Dark hair, a little messy, like he'd just run his hands through it after ripping his helmet off. His thighs were massive, straining against his pants. He looked big. Rough. Like he could snap me in half if he touched me. I dragged my eyes up— And met his stare. He was already looking at me. A slow smirk spread across his face, lazy and knowing. I whipped toward Chloe, my face burning. “Who's that?” I asked. “The one with the tattooed fingers. Sitting in the back.” Chloe followed my gaze and let out a low whistle. “Damn, Mia. You want the big bad wolf?” She slapped my arm. “Just tell me who he is.” “That's Kade. Their captain.” She raised an eyebrow. “Forget him. He has a type, and that isn't you.” I didn't ask what his type was. I didn't want to know. But something about the way she said it made my jaw tighten. Made me want to prove her wrong. “I need the bathroom,” I said, standing before I could talk myself out of it. The alcohol was already spinning through my veins, making everything feel sharper and softer at the same time. I could feel Kade's eyes on me as I walked. I didn't have to look back to know. My silk gown barely covered me. Every step I took, the fabric rode higher. I should have felt exposed. Instead, I felt powerful. Before I could lose my nerve, I glanced over my shoulder. He was watching me, just like I knew he would. His eyes dragged down my body slow, lingering on the curve of my hips, the bare stretch of my thighs. Devouring me. Then I did something I never expected. I winked at him. Then I turned and walked toward the bathroom, my heart slamming against my ribs. The back hallway was dim, quieter. I reached for the bathroom handle — “Going somewhere?” I was about to open the door when the most husky, thick voice I'd ever heard stopped me. I turned around and came face to face with Kade. My mouth watered at the sight of him. I wasn't expecting him to be this tall. His blue eyes burned into mine. And I certainly wasn't expecting his voice to be that rough. His hands were shoved in his jacket pockets. He looked like a Greek god from the stories. I gulped. "To the bathroom," I managed to breathe out. He didn't say anything. He just kept looking at me, his eyes raking over my body. I suddenly felt conscious, but not in a bad way. Don't get me wrong, I love my body. I have curves and dips in all the perfect places, and my ample breasts are noticeable enough. “How much for a night?” I asked. I kept my voice steady, like I’d done this a hundred times, like I wasn’t a silent, dutiful wife who hadn’t had good s*x in years. He chuckled, and the sound somehow resonated from my heart down to between my legs. "A thousand bucks?" He tilted his head, asking. A thousand dollars. I almost laughed. My husband was one of the richest men in our city. A thousand dollars was what I tipped at restaurants without thinking. “Fine,” I said. “I’ll pay you after your service,” I added, because I wanted him to know I wasn’t desperate. Something shifted in his expression, not offended, more like quietly entertained. “How do you like it?” “Rough.” His smirk deepened. “Safe word?” I shook my head. No safe word. Absolutely not. He looked at me for one more second, then reached past me and pushed open a door I hadn’t registered, a back room, dim, private. He reached in and flicked a light on. I walked in and he followed, the lock clicked behind us. “Turn around. Hands on the wall.” I blinked. “Here?” "It's restricted. No one is allowed back here until I'm done." I didn't know if he owned the place or just had that kind of power, but I didn't ask questions. What if someone came in and took a picture? What if my husband saw it? I didn't want to overthink it, and I definitely didn't want to lose my chance with this man. So I did as he said. I turned around and placed my hands flat against the cold wall. My heart was pounding so hard I could hear it in my ears. Excitement and anxiety tangled in my stomach as I heard him unbuckling his belt behind me. What if he was a disappointing lay like my husband? But his build said otherwise. "Take off your ring, ma'am," he said. The way he said it made me flush and the respectful title somehow making the whole thing filthier. I slid off my wedding ring. It hit the floor, looking back at me mockingly. I didn't bother picking it up. Kade raised my silk gown, revealing my panties. He hooked his fingers into them and pulled them down. They fell to my ankles, and I stepped out of them. Then he was behind me, and there was nothing gentle about the way he took me. It was brutal. It was the best thing I'd ever had. He f****d me against that wall like I was made for him, like he knew exactly what my body needed before I even knew myself. Every thrust was rough, demanding, perfect. No hesitation. No asking if I was okay. He just took, and I gave, and for the first time in years, I felt alive. Wild. Crazy. Everything I had ever wanted. I came on his d**k, my body shaking, my nails scraping against the wall. He f****d me right through it, not stopping, not slowing down, chasing his own release. When he was about to come, he pulled out. He spun me around, yanked my gown down to my waist, exposing my heavy breasts. I felt a flash of shyness, but it disappeared the moment I looked at his face. He was watching himself as he stroked once, twice, and then he came all over my chest and my face. I stood there, breathless, covered in him, and I had never felt more satisfied in my entire life. He pulled up his pants. I stayed there for a moment, trying to remember how to breathe. "So," I finally said, reaching for something to wipe my face. "Can I book you again?" Before he could answer, my phone beeped. I cursed myself when I saw the name on the screen. 'MY HUSBAND" flashing right back at me. I opened the message. Where are you? Mia? Shit. s**t. s**t. I quickly started adjusting my dress, trying to wipe the c*m off my skin with the hem of my gown. My hands were shaking. Kade watched me with that same smug smirk. “Cheating is bad ma'am,” he drawled. His voice was smug. Mocking. Like he found the whole thing amusing. I didn't respond. I just grabbed my purse, pulled out a thick wad of cash, and threw it at him. Bills scattered in the air like confetti. Then I ran. I found Chloe still by the bar, her eyes wide when she saw me. "We have to go," I said, my voice frantic. "Charlie texted me." I didn't wait for her response. I just grabbed her arm and pulled her toward the exit, my heart pounding so hard I thought it might crack my ribs. Please, God. Don't let him find out.
