Still Falling...

Mr East sly grins upon seeing me, sweeping an arm around the room, he begins the class. My chest squeezes each time his blue eyes meet mine, their sharp attention cuts into me. Serena notice's my tense posture, sliding a book onto my desk, I open it. "You ok?You keep swallowing?" I scribble a reply. "Yeah, just had a detention with him the first day, trying to make a better impression." I slid it back to her desk, Serena nods, I can see she's hesitant to believe me but doesn't further. "So everyone's clear? 300 words essay by next monday." The bell rang marking the end of class, I quickly pack my things as everyone filed out, Serena stood waiting for me, we walked to the front of the class, about to leave. "Cassie, can I speak with you?" my back was turned away from him, I squeeze my eyes shut, taking a breathe, I forced a smile, nodding for Serena to go ahead, she hesitated but left, closing the door on exit. I turned to face Mr East, with a tight smile. He doesn't waste time, coming to my side, he gently takes my hand, I stiffen but do not pull it away. "Did Luce explain everything?" He asks, his blue eyes gazing into mine. I nod, before speaking. "Yes, you both mistaken me for a girl, you'd both been in love with, Cassiel. Whom you lost contact with a few years ago" I reply, remembering Luce's explanation. Mr East's eyes seem to dim, as his mouth formed a tight line, nodding. "Have you ever lived anywhere else?" He asks, surprising me. "No, as fair as I know I've only lived here." I replied honestly. Mr East nods, contemplating his next question, my eyes dart to the clock the next class began in 5 minutes now, I wouldn't have time to go to my locker.  "Have you ever had an odd dream, one that felt real?" My eyes snapped back to Mr East as he asked this. Remembering the one, I'd had the first day of school, I hesitated to answer. Mr East noticed, but said nothing dropping her hand, I noticed as a knowing look spread across his face. Clearly satisfied with her silence, as an answer, he nodded, heading behind the desk. "Better head to your next class Miss Morning." He said, looking down at his papers now. I moved to take my leave pulling to open the door, I realised it had been locked, but I hadn't seen Mr East do so and Serena definitely hadn't. Unlocking it, I pulled it again, as soon as it opened, impatient students filed in giving her sneered looks. Mr East, smiled to himself, She was the one without a doubt, the way her eye colour changed with her emotions, and she'd confirmed she'd been dreaming. He was sure now, Cassiel, they'd found her again, after almost a century, and he planned to pursue her. He wouldn't let Luce win this time, as for her boyfriend, he'd find a way to move him from the equation if Luce's attention on Cassie, didn't do it for him.  Arriving at my next class, Art my only non compulsory subject, I realised almost everyone was already here, most of the seats taken, I scanned the room. Landing on a grinning Luce, his eyes sparkling as he pulled out the empty seat beside him. With a heavy sigh, I made me way through the tables to the back of the class, sitting in the free chair. I looked for Serena before remembering she'd chosen fashion this year, I sunk in my seat. Miss Mason walked in, looking frazzled and disheveled, her make up smeared, a wave of whispers and laughing sounded through the class at she made her way to the front. "Walk of shame." Chuckled Luce, he looked at me shrugging his eyes locking onto mine as he added in a whispered tone. "I should know, I seduced her."  I stared, eyes widening, he smirked dead serious. "You are a manwhore." I deadplanned, looking away, thinking of how he'd let Amy touch him in Gym. Elbow on the table, I leaned my chin on one hand, Ignoring Luce beside me. Glad we were only friends, I'd hate to have such a manwhore fo a boyfriend. Luce felt himself stiffen, calling her a manwhore was one thing, it had making him chuckle but saying he hate to have him for a boyfriend, struck deep. He suddenly hated not being able to pick up her thoughts, he only seemed to catch them when he least expected it, and they were usually negative. He could read everyone's thoughts, but Cassie's were blocked from him, he only heard what she didn't mind him knowing, like she subconsciously allowed him to know certain thoughts and not others. This never gave him a good indication where he stood, it never had the whole time she'd know Cassiel. He knew now, this was her, there was only one person in existence he couldn't read, whether deep down she knew that or not. When Miss finished we were assigned to draw a symbol of loss, I headed for the shelves to grab some paper, Luce on my heels, I passed him a piece, he'd looked surprise, I'd frown but he'd merely smirked turning on his heel, headed back to the table. He had a box of pastels, whilst I prefered my graphite pencils. I began drawing zoning out, I lost myself in what I was doing, it was a double so I didn't rush as I sketched. The bell rang marking the beginning of the second period, it brought me back to the present, I blinked as I sat back I heard the shuffling of feet. I turned frowning at the crowd that had gathered around me, I looked at Luce, his eyes were wide, gazing at me, his eyes aplogetic and sorrowful, he reached for my hand gentle squeezing it. Everyone gazed at my work, I looked at it, blinking I hadn't really paid attention to what I'd drawn. But looking now, I could feel loss, sorrow and fear, a deep twisting in my gut, as I looked at the scene, something nagged at me. The beautiful defiant angel fell, her wings turning to dust as she did, her gaze trained on the clouds above, she looked furious and fearsome. Her hand reaching towards the clouds she'd come through, where another angel tore through after her, reaching for her. It wasn't him her angry was aimed at, they'd been in this together. This male angels wings were pinned back against his side as he dove, his eyes pleading as the angel before him's wings burnt up as she fell, the ashes in the air around them. It was hard to tell what her wings had looked like, barely distinguishable but for the bones and last of the feathers. The males angels were black, as was his hair, his piercing eyes meeting hers, whatever the reason, this had been the consequences of her choice. As she looked at the two faces she noted she'd drawn the male he reminded of someone, not Jasper but Luce. The burning angel looked like her.. Everyone moved away as Mrs Mason, shooed them back to their own work, she placed a hand on Cassie's shoulder. I stiffened, looking up at her, Mrs MAson's eye were trained on the drawing, her eyes full of emotion. "This perfectly depicts loss, though the two people are depicted as angels, the feeling is there." She looked at me smiling sadly. "Perfect cassie, please touch it up with the rest of your time." she added as she strolled the rest of the room. I felt Luce's gaze on me, he hand grabbed mine, I could feel his breath in my ear as he whispered to me, making me blush and confused. "Do you remember us yet, Cassiel?"
