Chapter 3 getting auctioned off

1047 Words
Carla’s P.O.V I stood there taking deep breaths and trying to calm my nerves and racing heart, as I looked at the black curtains. I heard a man's voice telling someone to open the curtains, making me tense up. I did exactly what Toni had told me and held my head high, looking at the curtains as they slowly started to open. A light started to shine through the space between the curtains and then suddenly I heard a lot of clapping as a man walked up on stage, standing next to me. He was a very tall man standing at 6.2 with long dark hair that was pulled into a tight ponytail. I couldn't see his eyes, since he wouldn't look at me, but I could tell he was a vampire because I could smell him. He turned and walked around me in circles, as the others looked at me. “Turn around, so they can look at you and see what they are bidding on.” The man whispered to me and I did as I was told, not wanting to be whipped. I stopped when I had done a full turn and was facing back to the front, so they could see my face again. This was so humiliating and scary, I was being treated as if I was at some sort of cattle market and that scared me because at this very moment I felt even more like a piece of meat. “Alright everyone, what we have here is fresh meat. She is untouched, eighteen years old and when she turns nineteen she will be able to shift into her wolf. Any lucky man or woman could have her for the right price, unless she is the mate of anyone here.” The man said and then stopped, waiting to see if anyone claimed me as their mate and thankfully none of the vampires stood up. “The bidding will now start at one thousand dollars, do I hear any higher?” The man asked, as tears started to well up in my eyes. I felt so scared and I really didn't want to do this, I didn't want to be here. The tears I was trying to hold in started to fall down my cheeks, but I didn't feel scared anymore, I felt pissed off. The bidding started and hands were raised left right and centre in the crowd, one even offered ten thousand dollars, but he was soon outbid when someone offered twenty thousand dollars. “Thirty thousand dollars.” A vampire said, raising his sickly pale hand. “Forty five thousand dollars.” A werecat said, licking his lips at me and making me want to throw up. “Seventy thousand dollars.” A woman said and from the way her eyes shined, I would guess she was either a werecat or a werebear, but she was too far away for me to be sure. My price was getting higher and higher, making me even more angry as I thought about how these bastards could easily bid on another person. I was trying my hardest to do as Toni had said and not look at the people who were bidding on me, but I couldn't help it and peeked, which made me immediately wish I hadn't. The room I was in was huge and there were so many people here that it was shocking. There was one vampire who looked so creepy as he licked his lips, revealing his rotten yellow teeth as he did so, but suddenly my attention was pulled away from him when the door opened and I watched as someone walked in talking on the phone. I could clearly hear what he was saying and heard him tell whoever was on the other end of the phone what I looked like, but then as if sensing me staring at him he looked up at me. I turned my eyes away from him, doing what Toni had told me and focused on something else. “FIVE MILLION DOLLARS!” The man on the phone shouted out, making my eyes widen in shock. The man on stage looked around at all the other buyers and then cleared his throat. “GOING ONCE….GOING TWICE…...SOLD TO THE MAN ON THE PHONE!! Go pay your debt and then you can take your prize.” The man on stage announced, while the other man nodded as he walked over to the side to another man. A muscular man came on stage and gently took my arm, leading me off to where Toni was waiting and smiling at me. What was there to smile about? I had been sold to Goddess knows who to do Goddess knows what. “So, no mate, but you got sold for five million dollars, that's a high price, congratulations. Come on, we need to get you ready.” Toni said, taking my hand and leading me to the side. “Come sit in this chair and I’ll do your hair.” Toni said, making me sigh as I sat where I was told to. I watched Toni through the mirror as she brushed my hair and let it lay flat over my shoulders. She freshened up my make-up, wiping away my dried tears and helped me into another dress. This dress showed off my curves and it was a little tighter than the other one, but I could still move in it. I lifted the dress up to put some shoes on, but Toni shook her head at me, confusing me. “We’re not allowed shoes, they consider them as weapons, you have to be barefoot.” Toni said, answering my unasked question. Of course they did, they probably thought I could beat them to death with a high heel or strangle someone with the shoelaces. I was led to another room and told to wait in there with Toni. Two hours later and there was a knock on the door, making my eyes shoot open as I looked at Toni. “Just stay calm and remember, show no fear.” Toni said and I nodded as she walked over to the door and opened it.
