Chapter 2: Welcome back, Destin.

“Ximena,” her dad called her. Ximena threw a peek at her father, who was smoking casually. After debating in the living room, they arrived at her father's workplace. Ximena's mother excused herself and grabbed an iced Americano, considering her husband is fond of coffee. “You’ll be having a transaction tomorrow,” he declared. “Your mother and I will be attending a business gathering. I’m expecting you to complete the transaction.” Ximena arched an eyebrow as she heard her father's order. Although she is not reluctant to conduct business with the other Mafia members, she feels bewildered because they are attending a business event together. “That’s new,” Ximena uttered. Her father's lips rose as he let out a soft chuckle. He may have been harsh towards his opponents, but his affections for his family were transparent. “I just missed attending business gatherings with your mom, Ximena. You know I have been busy for the past months,” he explained. “I’m counting you.” “You should, dad,” Ximena said dangerously. “Did you prepare what I’ve told you?” Ximena asked when they parked their car. They are now going to their business to deliver the product they purchased. “Yes,” Lyric whispered. Ximena opened the vehicle's door and adjusted her earpiece before getting out. When she noticed her bottom lip was dry, she nibbled it. “Can you hear me?” Lynden asked. Ximena clicked her tongue and said nothing before glancing at her father’s allies, Lyric and Eve. “Yes,” Lyric muttered. “Let’s go,” Ximena stated before leading the group. Lyric and Eve were clutching the gold suitcase luggage, which contained two types of drugs. Cocaine and Methamphetamine. They are now heading to the underworld to meet with their consumers, who requested the drugs. Her father's command is to seal the deal effortlessly, but she is naturally impatient. Ximena embraced a poker appearance as she proceeded to their meeting site. She was merely wandering and didn't mind the folks she met. She is only here to conduct business, not to make acquaintances. Mafia cannot be trusted. Therefore, she stays away from them as much as possible even though she can murder them in a matter of seconds. When they arrived at their destination, one of Ximena's guards opened the door for her to get in. Once they walked into the room, they were met with dim lighting, and their consumer was reclining in the chair, waiting for them. “Oh! I thought it was Mr. Del Valle,” he whispered. Then, he smiled at Ximena, but she just looked at him with piercing eyes. One of Ximena’s guards closed the door so they could without hesitation. Defeaning silence filled the room as Ximena began to walk and went to their front. “Let’s get to the point,” Ximena declared, gesturing her hand to her father’s allies to open the suitcase. They displayed the cocaine and methamphetamine that they had requested, and the man grinned suspiciously while glancing at his order. His eyes were bloodshot, and he also had black circles. He was bizarre and secretive, but Ximena was used to these kinds of people. “Here’s your request,” Ximena said. “I hope you will follow what you vowed to my dad.” “You don’t have to worry about that, Miss Del Valle,” the man uttered before laughing evilly. “I don’t break my commitments.” “You better be, or else,” Ximena smiled, but her eyes didn’t express emotion. “You can rely on me, Miss Del Valle,” he tried to convince her, but Ximena didn’t respond. The man clapped his hands, so his allies immediately opened their suitcase luggage with millions of dollars. “Here’s my payment, Miss Del Valle,” he announced. Ximena scowled as the man's companions placed their luggage on the table before them. Her security guard immediately attempted to investigate the money to verify whether it was accurate and if a grenade was hidden beneath it, but luckily, there was not. So, her bodyguards took the luggage and placed the client's order. Similarly to Ximena's bodyguards, her clients' bodyguards ensured that the merchandise they purchased met their expectations. Ximena looked at them seemingly. “Are they taking too long?” Lynden asked, but Ximena and her allies didn’t answer the question. They stayed quiet and professional, but Ximena couldn't help but diffuse her aura over the room since she wanted to go. She goes underground when she needs to attend to a transaction like this, but once she accomplishes her assignment, she returns to their residence to begin working on her legitimate business, a clothes firm. Ximena had no plans to return to her firm after her transaction because it consumed her vitality. So she'll only work in their home. “Thank you so much for this wonderful product, Miss Del Valle,” the man suddenly said, catching her attention. “We’ll be going now.” “Just contact us if you run out of stock,” Ximena said. “As always, Miss De Valle,” he said before leaving the place. Ximena placed her hands inside her pocket. “How’s the transaction?” Lynden asked when they were now heading home. “Successful,” she muttered while her eyes focused on the road. She heard him chuckle, but Ximena didn’t react. She’s always serious whenever she’s outside of their house or hideout. She needs to be careful and alert just in case someone attacks her. However, that’s impossible, especially since she didn’t do anything besides executing the low-ranking Mafia. “That’s good to hear. Your father will be happy if he hears about this.” Ximena knew her father would be proud again, even though he had previously predicted the deal would succeed again. It wasn't her first time doing it, after all. She's used to it since her father, the Mafia Boss, has taught her. Ximena parked her vehicle in front of their home. That strong and threatening vibe continued to encircle her. “Welcome back, Destin,” Lynden greeted her when Ximena finally entered their house.
