Ximena massaged her nape while reading the piece of paper. She had just gone briefly, but there was already plenty of paperwork on her desk waiting for her.
A certain period has passed, but she has yet to finish what she is working on. The amount of paperwork on her desk is growing; she believes it continues to grow even further.
She is at her parents' house, in her office room close to her father's workplace. She doesn't want to go to her company because what happened a while ago has drained her energy, but she had no idea that paperwork would be the source of her exhaustion.
Lyric entered her office without knocking, causing Ximena to stop and stare at her.
“Care to spill something?” Ximena inquired to Lyric.
“Your father, Mr. Del Valle, informed us that they will come home tomorrow,” Lyric announced as she closed the door.
“For what reason?” Ximena inquired before proceeding to browse the documents tossed on her desk.
She's perplexed. Her father declared they would attend a business function since he missed his wife, but she is perplexed now.
“Dad told me they were just going on a business trip,” she said.
“Yes, but they flew to another country. If I’m not mistaken,” Lyric exposed her boss.
“Wait.” Ximena turned to her again. “Pardon?”
Lyric let out a deep sigh, “They flew to another country. That’s what I heard yesterday.”
“That’s absurd,” Ximena whispered. “How many bodyguards did he bring?”
“I’m not sure, but I think half of his allies,” Lyric muttered.
She approached the armchair beside her and sat, staring at Ximena, who was suddenly bewildered.
“Talk to them and inform me right away. We need to ensure their security is tight,” Ximena commanded. “We can’t let the Mafia Boss and his mistress be in danger.”
“Yes, Miss Del Valle,” Lyric said and bowed her head a little.
When Ximena felt her temple hurt, she massaged it using her fingers. She is worried. Her father did not give her any of the details. Although she was only one of her father's allies, her father remained their organization's Mafia Boss.
“Why didn’t he inform me?” Ximena breathes as she massages her temple.
She clenched her eyes tightly and heard Lyric excuse herself, but she did not answer.
If she's a stubborn daughter, she likely has stubborn parents. It's no surprise that she got it from them.
“I thought it was just a simple gathering, but it seems like it isn’t,” she uttered.
Ximena pressed the earpiece to activate her signal. She attempted to link her signal to her father's earpiece but was unsuccessful since he switched it off immediately after entering the hall.
“What the actual f**k, Dad?” she cursed.
When she opened her eyes, she had no choice but to discuss it with Lynden. He was the only one who could help her locate her parents.
So she transmitted her signal to Lynden, who was typing something in front of his laptop.
He was unsure as he heard the rustling sounds on the other line.
“Lynden,” Ximena called his name. “I want you to track my parents using their earpiece.”
“All right,” he said. “Give me a minute.”
“Track his bodyguards, too,” she added.
“Chill,” Lynden comforted her. “You look stressed.”
“How can I relax if he didn’t inform me?” Ximena exclaimed. “He forgot that he’s the Mafia Boss of this organization, yet he didn’t inform his allies of his whereabouts.”
“How did you learn about it?” Lynden inquired, as he, too, was unaware of the situation.
Mr. Del Valle is vague about his schedule, which irritates Ximena. Although her father has typically behaved like this, she has not adapted to it.
“Lyric told me everything!” she hissed. “That f*****g old hag!”
“He’s your father, Destin,” Lynden reminded Ximena, now bursting with anger. “He’s a Mafia Boss. Don’t forget about that.”
“I’m just furious! He’s the Mafia Boss, but he didn’t inform his daughter so I could tighten the security. We all know that we had many opponents, but he didn’t even tell me about his schedules,” she explained. “Damn! My head is aching so much because of that old man.”
“That’s what I’m saying; you need to relax. I’m going to track Mr. and Mrs. Del Valle,” he assured. “I’m also trying to locate everyone in the event hall.”
“You better be, or else I’ll point my gun to your head,” she warned him.
Lynden just shook his head as he finally tracked them. “He bought half of his allies.”
“What about their opponents in the event hall?” Ximena inquired.
She hadn't been able to calm herself down, but after receiving the news, she took a deep breath.
“Just a mere low-ranking mafia,” he informed. “Your father can quickly kill them.”
Ximena's forehead creased at what she heard, yet she remained terrified. “Did you finally distinguish who they are?”
“Yes. I’ll send the information to your email address.”
Her phone buzzed in response to Lynden's words, so she grabbed her cell phone and promptly checked the email he had sent.
She was finally relieved after seeing the details regarding the low-ranking Mafia members.
She dropped her phone on her table, leaned back, and closed her eyes.
“Do you still want me to deploy some of your allies?” Lynden interrupted her after she became silent.
“No. It’s okay now,” she murmured. “At least they are okay, and I finally know where they are.”
In addition to the data regarding the low-level Mafia members who attended the business occasion, Lynden provided her father's allies' numbers and whereabouts to calm her down.
He sensed she was concerned about her parents' safety, especially because she routinely massacred the Mafia anytime they hindered her path.
Although he knows she is powerful and merciless, she still cares about her parents.
Ximena terminated her transmission when she was alleviated. “I can’t believe he stresses the hell out of me.”
