It’s heartbreaking to watch Cyra and Spence struggle with Max and Zack being away from them. I know that Max had hoped that not marking Spence would prevent this from happening, that he wouldn’t get sick like this from not being around Max, but it hasn’t worked.
I watch over Cyra and Spence as they’re sleeping fitfully. They’ll fall asleep for an hour and then suddenly shoot awake again. They’re so exhausted, they fall back asleep after, but watching that panic go through their bodies, it hurts and breaks my heart each time.
The way they stare up in terror, though they’re not seeing anything in this world... I want to help them. I want to do anything I can do to help them, but I have no idea how. How do I take this pain, this terror, away when they’re so against using medication
