As much as I f*****g tried to control my emotions from running out of control and to compose myself because she needed me, I wasn’t prepared for what I walked on.
My feet stopped as I took in the scene in front of my eyes. My heart broke into millions of tiny pieces. And, I swear to f*****g god there was nothing else in this world than what I was seeing to break me like she did in that moment.
A low keening sound was coming from her and tears were trailing down her swollen red cheeks, non stop, as she scratched at her hands. Her lips were trembling, she was hyperventilating as she chanted, “No… no.. no…” again and again.
Swallowing my own tears I resumed walking. But I took only two steps before she jumped from the bed and fell down
