RAVEN I pushed myself to my feet and brushed off my clothes, turning to look at Ver as the cheers began to break out. Zatir was dead and though a war still raged outside the kingdom walls, with Zatir gone, the Valveronian solders would soon surrender for fear of facing the same fate. Ver looked to me and walked over, reaching out a hand to gingerly touch a scrape on my cheek. “Are you alright?” He asked me, worry on his face. I shrugged, my back still stinging from where the dark hunter had clawed at me. “Could be worse,” I said and he looked at me sternly. “You’ve got a nice new statue for your royal garden,” I said as I gestured with my hand to Zatir. This managed to get a smile out of Ver. “Raven,” He started to say. “I’m so sorry.” I held up my hands. “This was not your fault.” I
