Chapter Nine
After Emma and Lily filled up extra-large coffee cups with cappuccino, the tour of the corporate offices began. It didn’t take too long, and the manufacturing tour would happen later. Lily was anxious to meet the transition team.
Lily sucked in several deep breaths, smoothed her lips together, and followed Emma into a conference room. Lily ignored her racing heart and focused on one face at a time. Emma made introductions of the team, including an accountant, a lawyer, a manager from manufacturing, and two people from the finance department. Lily smiled and kept eye contact, but she could already feel animosity drifting off a few people.
Things were about to get interesting.
