CHAPTER 12 ANOTHER FRUSTRATING PROJECT. "Miss Blake, we have another order from.." Mrs. Elizabeth paused for a moment, pairing her eyes into Flora's for some seconds. Flora blinked, a light grin washing over her face. Mrs. Elizabeth still kept mute, furrowing her brows in confusion as she glared at flora. "Is everything okay? Is something wrong with my face, Ms Elizabeth?" Flora asked. " Not at all." Elizabeth blinked with a smile. "It's another demanding project from.." "From Mrs. Wilson, I guess." Flora cut in, her expression instantly turned gloomy. "Yeah." Elizabeth nodded and took her seat. Flora frowned. She was really relieved after the successful delivery of Debby's first work. Since then, she had been praying deep in her mind for Debby never to return to that company again–at least, not to be welcomed with such an evil woman's project as the first schedule of a new week! "She called me earlier today and said she needs you two to meet up to discuss the project." "And guess what? She transferred some extra cash to us! She said her husband was really impressed with the previous designs." Elizabeth added, a faint smile spreading across her lips, but Flora's face remained untamed. She knows that for Debby to go to that extent of sending extra payment, her heart must be clouded with some evil, because that's who she really is. Whenever she does good, she's definitely planning to strike hard from another angle. "Didn't she give you any clue at all?" Flora asked. "None for now. She only demanded a meeting with you by 10: 00 am. Hope that's okay by you? It's not as if I can turn down her request anyways." Elizabeth remarked. "That'll be fine ma'am. I'll just drop Dan with Bianca as usual." Flora didn't argue further. She knows that Elizabeth is really considerate in looking out for her well-being, but in business, sometimes you have to put aside familiarity to succeed, so she won't blame Elizabeth for accepting the deal without prior confrontations. Little Dan stood beside her, his heart burning with rage when he saw the unpleasant look on his mother's face. And–'Mrs. Wilson, he could still recall that name–that was the woman that bullied his mummy some weeks ago. He just watched in silence with a displeasing frown as his mother left him and proceeded to the elevator. "Don't worry mummy. Once I submit your resume to Mr Adrian Smith, I'm sure he won't allow you to work with this wicked woman again." The little boy mumbled under his breath. At exactly ten o'clock, Mrs Wilson drove into the Davy's designs parking lot. Beside her was a young boy that looked a bit older than Dan, with facial features matching hers. "Good morning Mrs. Wilson. I welcome you once again to Davy's design hub. How may I serve you?" Flora ignited the conversation immediately, never ceasing to show her level of professionalism. "Oh Wow! I can see that someone has finally learned some proper customer conduct." Debby scoffed. "I already had lots of work on my table before I was informed of this urgent schedule, Mrs Wilson. It'll only be nice if you go straight to the point." Flora remarked, ignoring her mockeries. Debby lowered her gaze and smiled at the little boy beside her, planting a soft kiss on his cheek. "Com'on Flora. Stop acting as if you can't notice this little cutie that's here by my side. Or....are you jealous?" She scoffed and continued. "Well, even without an introduction, you should know that he's my son because of the resemblance. And guess what? I gave birth to him just two months after you left! Surprised right? That's to tell you that I was pregnant with Richard's son long before you even got married to him, you home wrecker!" She sneered. "With this, I just want to let you know that even if you're dreaming of reconciling with Richard, that's never gonna be possible, because he can't let go of his adorable child and the mother just for your sake!" Flora lowered her head. Those words cut deep into her mind that she felt like carrying any heavy object in the office to strike Debby's head. Her eyes turned sour with tears despite how she tried to control the tears from flowing. "Mrs. Wilson. Did you really come here to discuss business, or you're here for confrontations regarding my personal life?" She snapped. Debby's expression turned sour. She’d expected to see Flora turn violent and defensive, but all her methods of irritation failed. She pouted mockingly. "Awwww ...I can see that someone is feeling intimidated already. Well, it's not actually my fault that you have a barren womb that can't even miscarry a foetus. "So, back to business before you start crying like a lost piglet. I'm here to place a frame order for the 7th birthday of Wilson's only heir." Debby remarked, her eyes fixed on Flora's as she hopped to see her breakdown emotionally. "That's a nice thing to do. So do you have a particular picture you'll like me to use as a reference?" Flora asked as her lips twitched with a faint smile. Debby's countenance changed immediately. "You know, the last portraits you made for me got people who came to my house talking, and eventually, the news started flying out about Miss Blake's exceptional creativity in design. I always tell people that the designer is not as perfect as they thought, but they all thought I was just being delusional. So, I'm here to either prove those commentators or myself wrong." Flora only smiled at her words, acting immune to their harshness. "Now, the main deal is that the son I have for Richard is clocking seven in the next five days. I need a very perfect portrait of him without misrepresentations. And, even though this is your first time seeing him, you're going to use your sight of him now to make the portrait, because I didn't come with any picture for you to use as reference. Will that be a difficult task to achieve?" Debby demanded. Flora stood up, placed her palms firmly on the table, with her fiery gaze fixed on Debby's face, she sneered. "Mrs. Wilson, why won't you just tell me to make a perfect portrait of you making out with Richard on the day he got you pregnant? Yeah, that'll be the most perfect way of refuting people's claims, you know." Immediately, Debby flared up and raised her hands to slap Flora, but Flora held her wrists tightly before her palms could reach her cheek. “I dare you to try it one last time!” Flora groaned. "I may take all the rubbish from your mouth, but definitely not you laying a finger on me!" She warned before flagging down Debby's hand abruptly. "Flora, remember my warning. I own this place." Debby threatened as she held her son's hands and headed towards the door. “Bravo!” Flora scoffed. "And you seem to forget that I own my career as well. Can you also take that away from me?" Flora smirked.
