LOVE IN THE FAST LANE

Akira and Lemuel sat in Akira's Mercedes Benz,the engine humming as they waited in the traffic light to turn green.They we're finally on their way to a music festival they'd been planning for months. The excitement was palpable and they couldn't stop talking about bands they'd see and the food they'd eat during the festival. As they hit the open road,Akira cranked up the music and they sang along at the top of their lungs. Lemuel glanced over at Akira admiring her carefree smile.She was beautiful and smart, he felt grateful to have her as his best friend. The hours flew by, and they stopped at a quirky roadside restaurant for lunch since it was time for lunch. They ordered burger with milkshakes they talked about everything they've shared together since childhood . Akira laughed at Lemuel's stories he couldn't help but look deep into Akira's eyes. As they got back on the road the music festival was still hours away but they were in no rush. They took a detour through the mountains, stopping at a scenic spots and taking selfies together. Akira was gazing out at the breath taking view, Lemuel leaned against Akira and she wrapped her hands around his shoulders, feeling a jolt of electricity. For a moment they stood there taking in the beauty of the moment. The sky was ablowing with hues of pink and orange as they stood there,the music from the festival carrying on the wind Akira turned to Lemuel,her eyes shinning with excitement. Akira: We should do this more often. she whispered into Lemuel 's ears, Lemuel smiled his heart beating a little faster Lemuel: Definitely we'll do that more often during our free times. In College It was their sophomore year,and Akira was struggling in her computer science course. Akira was to be one of the best coding or hackers in the world. She'd always been interested in coding,but the material wasn't clicking and get grades were reflecting it. Lemuel on the other hand was a whiz in the subject and their professor had paired them up as study buddies. At first, Akira was hesitant to accept Lemuel's help. She didn't want to be that person who needed extra tutoring but Lemuel's laid back and patient demeanor put her at ease. They started meeting up at the library every week and Lemuel would walk her through the concepts she was struggling with. As they studies together Akira was amazed by Lemuel's genius ways. He has a way of breaking down complex topic's into simple and easy way to understand. She started to look forward to their sessions,not just the academic help ,but because she genuinely enjoyed his company. Lemuel was determined by Akira's determination and spirit,she was struggling but she never gave up, and her perseverance inspired him to be a better tutor and a best friend anyone will wish for. As semester processed, Akira's grades started improving and she gained confidence in her abilities. Lemuel was happy to see her succeed and their friendship grew stronger. Their study sessions became the highlight of his week,and he's fine himself looking forward to Mondays just so he could see her. He'd take her out for coffee and they'd chat about everything from their childhood memories, favorite show,games and music type. Little did they know their friendship was a foundation for something more. Something that would change their friendship forever. After class they approached their dorks,the atmosphere grew quieter and Lemuel found himself reluctant to say "good night". Akira too seemed to be savoring the moment her steps slowing as they reached the entrance. Akira: Thanks for the pizza earlier on, I had a great time with you around. Lemuel: Me too!! Guess I'll see ya tomorrow then? Akira: Definitely you would. As she turned to leave, caught her hand,his fingers brushing against hers. The touch sent a spark of electricity through him,he quickly let go feeling a bit awkward. Akira did noticd his awkwardness she just smiled and said "Goodnight Lemuel" "Goodnight Akira" he replied watching as she walked into her dorm. Lemuel stood there for a moment,his heart racing. He couldn't shake the feeling that something had shifted that between them,he wasn't sure what it was. He walked back to his hostel,he couldn't help replay their convo in his head. The way Akira laughed,the way she smiled and stares at him. He couldn't deny his feelings anymore. Meanwhile, Akira was lying in her bed, a huge smile on her face. She had been feeling the same way anything Lemuel is close her heart skips a beat, but she was scared to say anything cause she doesn't want to lose the beautiful friendship they've built. They're both in love with each other but there's a big question going on in Akira's head. "What if we don't work out and I lose both my bestie and most cherished one?? These question kept ringing in Akira's head cause she was thinking about how sad it would be if they lose each other. Cause Lemuel is the only person she can rely on and trust. So let's see where fate would lead them to would they succeed or there would be a fault 🫣🤧😭??
