Start of Something New
He’s coming back.
I fidgeted with my fingers, feeling my blood go up to my head. I tried not to overreact. I tried not to be anxious, but I was anything but that. I checked the place, remembering everything I planned in my head. Tables, banner, food. Everyone close to us were here, that includes Marcus’ friends and a few of my own as well.
“How do I look?” I frantically turned to Hikaru who only stared at me confused. “Am I too extra for today? Is my makeup still on? Is there something on my teeth?” I grinned, flashing him my teeth.
Hikaru laughed at me, patting me by the shoulder. “You’re good, Nami-chan. The more self-conscious you are, the more likely you’ll fail.”
Sophee suddenly pulled me, shifting my weight to face her. “Snap out of it, Nami!” She exclaimed and everyone inside the room with us, laughed. “Relax, will you? It’s not like you haven’t seen each other for a decade. What are you so nervous about?” She added, rolling her eyes.
“Tyler said they’re almost here,”
Johnny announced and I was more anxious. I can feel my heart beating out of its chest. My intestines were going around and round like when you drive down a hill. My brain was slowly getting numb from how nervous I was.
I paced back and forth unable to stop my adrenaline rush. I looked at everyone who seemed to be enjoying how frantic I am. My hands started shivering and my vision was starting to get blurry, I don’t even know why I feel this tensed. I sighed trying to calm myself but it won’t help. I’ve eaten five bags of gummies since yesterday, and I’m not feeling any better like I should have.
“Phee,” I turned back to Sophee, who was crossing her arms at me. “What if he doesn’t like me anymore? W-What if he found someone better in Canada? What if he doesn’t know me anymore? What if he doesn’t want to be with me anymore? What if—”
I stopped talking when everyone fell quiet, and all their eyes were looking at one direction. Their focus wasn’t on me anymore. I froze and felt chills run down my spine when someone snaked its hands around my waist, and cold soft lips touched my cheeks.
“Hey, princess.”
