Chapter 6

Kora's P.O.V

Savannah and I walk into the the cermony room, with other members and guest. "Wow! Kora you out did yourself!" Savannah says spining in the room. Hope was sound asleep in the wrap all tucked in like a little ball. Savannah goes to sit next to her parents, I needed to make sure everything was going to the schedule for the night. As i walk over to the kitchen staff and a smell catches me off guard, stopping me dead in my tracks. The smell of fresh mint like the irsh spring soap, fills my nose up, it smell so good I almost forgot what I was doing. I di dmy best to keep focus while speaking softly to the kitchen staff while the Elder was saying his opening speach. Rain was jumping all over the place in my mind, Will you sit still! I can't think with you jumping all crazy! I tell her but she just keeps doing it screaming, Mate! Mate MATE! The cheif informs that dinner is on time, that gives me some room to breathe. I know if things aren't flawless I'll be paying for it later. The staff walks away and I'm still standing in the same place when I notice Alpha Dean and Jason take the center of the stage. My eye are locked on to this man sitting in the back row in the middle of the room, I can't look away for some reason. He's sitting down so I'm not sure how tall he is, but he is has short dark brown hair, clean shaving face and a black long sleeve shirt. I can tell he doesn't dress like most men looking for a date. I caught myself shooting him a smile, s**t! did he see that! I say to Rain who is purring like a damn cat in my head. Oh he sure did! he's yummy! Rain says. Oh no, I notice Brent walking to my direction, why can't I move! I can't stop looking atthis man for some reason, I just know I'm going to pay for it. I feel Brent grab the bottom if my arm, yanking me to the hallway. Since I'm not a part of the pack, neither Brent, The Luna, Jason or Alpha Dean can mind link with me. Sometimes I enjoyed it but most of the time I didn't. Hopefully neither Brent or Jason saw the man I was eyeing like candy.

Out in the hallway and out of the view of guest Brent pushes me against the wall, pinning me the best he could with Hope attached to me. "What the hell do you think you are doing!" Brent spits out, I can smell beer on his breath. "I not doing anything! Let go of me!" I yell back. Brent only sqeezes harder on my wrist, thats gonna leave a bruise for a few days. "You are mine and Jason's! You got that!" he gets closer to my face. I knew he would love nothing more than to slap me right across the face but he won't with Hope here. I can only hope Savannah saw what was about to happen and is walking to us. I couldn't mind link with her either but she knows me to well. If one of the boys is missing and I am missing, it doesn't take long to put the puzzle together. My body is shaking with fear knowing that Brent will tell Jason the moment the cermony is over. Brent was an asshole and he was rough but he was nothing compared to Jason. Brent was mean and he left marks on me but they would go away in a few weeks, Jason however wanted his marks to be premanent. Once Jason caught me talking to another member, about that my wolf was like. It was the first time I shifted. Later that night Jason came into my room and demand to see my wolf, I told him no. instead of leaving me alone Jason pulled out a sliver knive. After serval punches, slaps I was exhausted and could't fight him anymore. Jason was on top of me, he demand one more time "SHOW ME THOSE EYES!" I said nothing, Jason stabbed my lower abdomen with the blade, and covered my mouth to silence the scream. The scare is permanent, even though I have wolf healing silver is one of those things a wolf can't heal without leaving scaring.

Savannah comes from the door way, "Brent, don't you have I don't know Beta duties to do!" Savannah is a pack member so harming her is not allowed. She gets between me and Brent and reaches for Hope out of the wrap. "Go!" she yells. Brent lets go of me but then shoves his face in the space betwen my face and neck, I can feel his breathe on my skin. "I'll see you later tonight." he says causing shivers down my spin. i knew that meant he informed Jason. That meant the only peace I was going get was during the party. Once I went home I was theirs to torcher. I fell down my back still against the wall. Savannah waited a minute before reaching for my hand, she was still holding Hope in her arms. She looked good with a little one, natural almost. "Savannah I saw him." I said almost in a whisper. "WHO!" She says with a big smile on her face. "My mate, I saw him. Brent saw me with my eyes locked on him, I couldn't look away." I told her. "I knew you would Kora!" she reaches to hug me, She pulled me of the floor and we went into the kitchen so I could feed Hope without anyone seeing. Breastfeeding is normal but people looking made me uncomfortable.

It took Hope about 30 minutes to eat from both sides. Once I was done i grabbed the diaper bag and put the wrap inside it, Savannah carried the bag and I had Hope in my arms, she had slept through the who,e cermony and now she was awake, the colors from the light caught her attention so easily. I found Amy and Bill waiting take Hope home with them. Hope mostly sleeps all night after she eats but I was planning on spending the night at their house, especially after the threat from Brent. I gave Hope a kiss and handed her to Amy and watched them leave the pack house. Savannah's family was the only family I could trust with her, once they were out of my sight SAvannah grabs my hand and takes me to a corner of the room, out of the view of certain eyes. She hands me a water and she gets a drink. The same scent of iris spring soap is back in the air and I can't help but smile. i looked up from the floor to see the same man walking in my direction. Holy s**t! He is tall! What is he 6'3! Rain is drooling my mind Savannah lets go of my hand and gives me a wink, what the hell is that! I take a deep breathe as he comes closer to me. "Hello, I'm Nickolas." he says kissing my hand. What does he think I am roality? "Hi, I'm Kora." I answer back. "Would you dance with me?" he asking still holding my hand. I can't help but scan the room for two certain men. I think he felt my shaking, "I won't let anyone hurt you." He says while slowly pulling me to the dance floor. i can't fight him, in fact I'd love nothing more than a dance with him, after all he is my mate.
