The Lucky One

Chapter 4

Today is the day of the big event for Jason, the transtion of power from one Alpha to the next is one of the biggest event werewolves have. Alot of Alphas from other packs will attend in the hopes of finding their Luna's if they have not already. But the cermony is not just fpr Alphas, a lot of unmated werewolves from packs hope to find their mate as well. I don't get to attend a lot of celebrations being known as the pack slave and most of the time I'm loaded up with housework so I never have the time to enjoy any gatherings. However the cermony of Alphas is one that everyone in the pack must attend, I still have to work the party but I be visable to people. That makes me nervous, but the likley hood of a boy coming up to ask me to dance is not likely while wearing a 7 month old baby. I handed Hope of to Savannah and her parents this morning to make sure everything is exactly as i said it would be on my sheets. The kitchen is so busy and the omages are doing amazing with their team work, I knew the boar would take most of the day to cook so I washed my hands and helped with the side dishes and washed the veggies. I like to help when I could. Alot of the omages in the pack respected me, they hated the term "pack slave," I was able to chat and goof with everyone as long as no one from the Alpha or Beta households were around. The cheif and baker even took time when they could to teach me to bake and cook. i knew they likelyhood of anyone from the Alpha houshold would be down until the cermony was going to start, I liked it. The room to bteathe for once was amazing so I'm going to enjoy it while I have it. Looking at ther Cermony space and it is breathe taking, the pack colors are red and black but Jason likes the color gold to. The wall drapes have an even number of black and red materal hanging along the walls but not much so there is still some whie natural light in the room. The tables are fit to seat 12 at each, with white tableclothes and a gold table runner along the middle. Each table has a center pieces with red and white roses and gold stones at the bottom. The vases are beig enough to be seen but not tall enough to prevent conversations. The cake was beautiful, just how The Luna wanted it to be, around it was other little desserts like pies, cookies, and brownes. The smells from the table was making me smile, desserts are suppose to make you smile at least that is what my mother used to say. i look around the room one last time and thats when I feel a tug at my arm. "Come on!!! Time to make you beautful!" Savannah says pulling me away from my thoughts, this is going to be a long night I fear.

After spend 30 minutes in the hottest shower possible my skin is warm and red, it was the most relaxing shower I have had in a long time. Savannah yelled at me to not wash my hair so she could pin it up since I will have Hope attached to me some of the night. Savannah was already done with her hair and make up, she went with a curly hairstyle and it is beautful, her hair is a light brown and her make up was done perfectly to match her green dress. Savannah has brown eyes anh she is about 5'6 in height. Her birthday was in a week and then she would be 18 years old. Th ethought of finding her mate was killing her, she had ideas on what he woul dlook like, smell like, and even talk like. I just turned 18 years old 2 days ago but I didn't want people to know honestly. I knew no one in the Blood Moon pack was my mate because I never got that gult feeling from anyone. I even spent time in the cafeteria and dinning hall to see if I would get that heart pounding feeling or even a scent. Nothing, but that only gave me relief honestly. The thought of being tied to this pack of murders is nit what I wanted for my child. "There, all finished!" Savannah says. I was to busy caught up in my own thoughts to feel what she was doing to may hair and face. "Kora Brooks! if you dont land a mate tonight I swear men are beyond stupid!" Savannah laughs and hands me her mirror. My hair was braid arounf my skull to the back and then turned into a low bun right in the middle at the bottom. i lost count of the amount of bobby pins Savannah placed in my hair, my make up was light. Savannah gave me color when i lacked in my cheeks, and around my eyes.She made my eyelashes pop with mascara and eyeliner. She reached in her closet and pulled out a black floor length grown that was closed in the back. The dress had thin shoulder straps and it long enough I could wear black flats underneath it. The Luna wanted all the staf memebrs to wear something black and elegant to show off the proud members of staff in the Blood Moon pack. i was not actually a staff member since i hardy got paid but denining it tonight would end up with punishment tommorrow. After finishing up getting ready we met Savannahs parents in their livingroom. Someone from the pack who had an infant a few months older than Hope gave us a sweet little pink dress foe her to wear with a pink bow to match. Amy put a thin top ponytail in Hopes hair and attached the bow. She looke dlike a doll in that dress, it made my heart smile, i was not proud about how I was giving Hope but I am proud to be her mom. I fed her one more time before going to the pack house with Savannah and her parents, we made arrangments for Savnnahs parents to take her from me once the cermony and dinner was done so that I could stay at the party with Savannah, not that i wanted to but she begged me and honestly I could use a small break from being a mom just fpr a little while.

Something will happen tonight! Rain was dancing in my head, I havent been able to shift lately due to all the work so i knew she as itching to get out. Like what? I asked. i don't know but something big! Something good! Rain sounded like a little school girl in my head, i pushed her futher back in my mind for the time being but I knew she wouldn't stay there for long. The cermont hall was buzzimg with conversations from all over. I knew before Ihad any chance of freedom I needed to find The Luna and Alpha Dean to make sure they new the prder of events tonight. They should know already considering I wrote it down but to save my skin I wanted to double check. I found alpha Dean in his office drinking his glass of whiskey like always, unfortunately Jason was in ther as well. I did my bestto ignore the sick smile he was giving me. I felt his eyes look me up and down in my dress, I'm sure he was think of all the things he loved to do right now. Oh Goddess i wish i could punch him!

Few minutes later I found The Luna in the dinning hall which I had turned into the celebration setting for Jasons party. I held by breathe as I walked up to her. "Ma'am, I would like to give you a quick run down fo rtonight if I may." I say while swaying with Hope, The Luna stil hasn't spoken a word as she looks around the room. "This is beautful Kora!" I started coughing on air! Did she just say something nice! Holy f**k! All i could do was nod at her. WE walked around the room looking athe food, the desserts, and the tables as i explained the order of the events. She just waved her hand in approveal and walked on to Alpha Deans office. I took the chance to go to the kitchen and fed Kora before anything started. I knew she would sleep during the cermony as long as she was fed before it started. No one wants to listen to a screaming infant, and i knew if anything happened to ruin Jason's cermony would be hell.
