Chapter 1

I wake up seeing my twin sister in front of my bed. As she sits on my bed, she begins whipping away my tears. I sit up as she stares at me questioningly. “May I ask what happened or is that private? Could it be about your dream boyfriend?” Samantha speaks in her sarcastic form as I look at the alarm clock to see its past noon. I get up almost instantly running towards my closet.         “Why didn’t you wake me?! I’m gonna be late for my first date.” I rush towards my bathroom getting dressed in my blue dress with black stockings as fast as I could and grab my black leather jacket. I get of whiff of air smelling both cinnamon rolls and orange juice with vodka. I look over at my sister as she smiles.         “Hang over or hunger? I wonder what that could mean.” Samantha hands the cup of orange juice and vodka mixed together smiling. “Happy birthday sis.” I laugh as I stare up at her and hug her then push the drink back towards her.         “Thanks but no thanks. Again I state, I have a date today. My first date ever, but I will take one of those cinnamon rolls.” I reach my hand out grabbing a roll and biting into it as I put on my boots and zip them up. I stand and move towards the mirror fixing my hair and runs out of my room grabbing my bag stuffing it with my wallet.            Samantha follows shortly behind me, and states “Remember not to come home tonight. Adrien is coming over tonight and I rather not think of my sister in the room above mine listening in.” I laugh leaving the house.         “Trust me, I wouldn’t dream of coming home to that.” Laughs and runs towards my car throwing my purse inside as my sister knocks on my car window just as I get into the car. I roll down the window and stare at her as she bends over. “Yes? I got to get to the blind date you’re setting me on.”         She laughs viciously. “First off, you need this date whether it’s blind or not. Second, can you please say hi to the new people moving into the building down the road? I can’t because Adrien is coming over in no later than an hour and I’m gonna need to get cooking soon or I’m screwed.” I nod listening to her then drives off seeing the moving truck. I stop seeing no one around.         “They must be inside the house putting the things away.” I begin driving when out of nowhere a man steps from in front of the truck and I almost hit him. I instantly stomp on the breaks and close my eyes praying I don’t hit him. I open my eyes when I hear a slight tapping on my car window beside me. I look up seeing the same man with a bland look on his face. I roll down the window as I hear him sigh.         “Is it just me or did you really need to go somewhere so much that you almost ran me over?” I open my mouth but then I close it looking down.         “I’m sorry that wasn’t a really good greeting to the neighborhood huh?” I look up at him and smile. “Sorry. Welcome to the neighborhood. My name is Lynn. Lynn Carter.” He smiles and raises a hand as I raise mine to shake his hand.         “Off to a date?”         I laugh and nod setting my hand back on the steering wheel. “My first date ever to be technical.” I blush looking down. “Actually, I am really late. I should get going.”          He nods and steps away from my car as I drive off. While I drive towards the Twin’s Night Club, I look up at the lights and think to myself stopping at a red light. ‘I never got his name.’ I look down at my steering wheel and begin driving once more as the light turn’s green. I drive past sign, after sign, after sign until I am finally at the sign that says ‘Thank you for coming through Himingsburgh. Come again.’ I laugh and passes the sign leaving my beautiful town seeing another sign almost instantly that says ‘Welcome to Burrough. Enjoy your stay.’         I keep driving until I pass a sign that says ‘Lovely Magic Exit on 41’ I laugh at the sign understanding that I’m really late. I get out the car once I’m there and run inside seeing that he’s still waiting on me. I blush and walk up to him “Are you Anthony?”         He looks up at me and says lightly “Aren’t you late?  I thought you weren’t going to show at all for a moment there.” He went across the table and slide my chair for me to sit in as I sat and he pushed the chair in for me.         “Sorry my sister forgot to wake me up and my alarm clock was turned off somehow, and then I almost ran over a guy in my neighborhood and had to greet him and gosh, I’m truly sorry.” He laughs loudly and stares at me.         “For a moment there, I thought you just didn’t want to meet with anyone and Samantha forced you to do this. Then again, she is pretty forceful about these kinds of things am I right?” I nod vigorously as a waitress walks over.         “Are you ready to order?” She speaks sternly enough that I could almost hear the metal deep inside her throat. This woman with brown hair and icy eyes beating down at me as though I had killed her first born child. I bite my lip as Anthony orders first.         “I would like the steak meal with cheesy cauliflower and bread sticks. And you?”         I speak up quietly but load enough she could hear me. “The same as him.” I look at him as he smiles.         “And for dessert we would like some chocolate and vanilla ice cream.” I laugh lightly and look up at him as the waitress rolls her eyes and walks away.         “She forgot to ask what we would like to drink. Is that how waitresses act in this town?” I sound impolite but tell the truth as I look around for a soda machine or anything having to do with drinks as a waiter walks over bring margaritas. He sets them down then walks away as I stare down at it. “Umm, did you order these?”         “Your sister tells me you work really hard and needs some breaks some times.” He says nodding as I laugh. I stare down at the drink and push it away.         “Thanks but no thanks. I have to drive myself home eventually, so drinking is not really an option for me.”         “I’ll get you a taxi, come on. Drink!” I push it away not wanting to drink then gets up.           “I don’t want to drink. Actually, I have to go.” I walk away hearing him yell my name as I get in my car and see a familiar face. “Hey, don’t I know you from somewhere?”
