"My father started with the idea of giving him grandchildren, but I know there's more to it," Bryan said to himself.
Bryan knows his dad has had eyes for Backwood company just didn't know what exactly he's aiming at because the last time he checked, the company was falling apart, and he knows deep down that apart from him being good-looking and charming, he knows that's not the only reason she would agree to marry him but also because his family money will be enough to revive her company.
"You gold digger," he said to himself.
His dad would have done that without getting them married, but he knows deep down something else is attached, especially because he had asked him to make her sign a prenup agreement just in case they get a divorce, but he feels there's more to it and that's why he had to make a copy and send over to his lawyer to check it out.
Poor girl feels the only thing in the contract is to help her. Little does she know that my father has other plans, and I just have to find out.
Just as Bryan was lost in thought, his phone rang:
Bryan checked who was calling, and it was Coby, his friend, who was calling.
''coby what's up'' Bryan answered.
''Hey Bryan, what's up, man? We didn't see you yesterday at the club, and you know how Fridays are," Coby said.
"Oh man, I'm so sorry about that, I forgot we had plans yesterday. I had dinner with my parents and that girl's family I told you about the other day," Bryan said.
"Oh yeah, you told me I forgot, man," Coby replied.
"Why would you not forget Coby? You forget everything, man." Bryan said to Coby while laughing.
"That's not funny, man, so what's up with the chick?" Coby asked.
"There is nothing much, just that I have to marry her, and I don't think it's an issue. At least I need something to keep my parents off me, and it's not like I will ever want to get married anyway, but I already set up a meeting with her today." Bryan said.
"A meeting? What for ?" Coby asked.
"Chill man, I just want to make it clear to her that even though we are getting married I still don't want to have anything to do with her or her fat ass, gosh that girl is not my type, she's chubby even though she got a cute face I think, I think that's all to her but I will make it clear to her today that after the wedding, I don't own her neither does she own me as well, we will both live our separate lives but away from the camera as I have always been living man," Bryan said to Coby.
"Bryan, come on, that's crazy, man, I hope she doesn't have any issues with it, though," Coby said.
"Coby, don't start; it's not my business if she does have an issue with my arrangements; I just want to be done with this," Bryan said
"What did your parents even threaten you with to accept this because I know you, Bryan," Coby asked.
"Come on, man, you don't want to know," Bryan replied.
"Okay, if you say so, I hope you are coming to the club today, though?" Coby asked.
"Yes, definitely I am, but as soon as I am done with her, you need to see this girl very ugly," Bryan said.
"Okay man, but you said she had a cute face earlier," Coby asked.
"Yeah, she does, but as far as she's fat, she's ugly to me, man; I got to go; we will discuss the rest at the club later", Bryan said.
"Okay, no problem," Coby said before ending the call.
"I don't care if she has issues with my plan," Bryan said as the call ended.
.........………………........................................................
"Oh, not him keeping me waiting for over an hour." Just as I was complaining to myself, Bryan walked in.
This time I was able to get a good look at him. He's quite tall, and his eyes, oh they are to die for really, his eyes are of, a bluish color which compliments his face in a way that you can't overlook him, his blueish eyes that spark up his face and when you stare into his eyes a lit longer you will get to notice the nose.
"Wait, did he have a nose job?" I asked myself, or more, whispering to myself as I traced his well-built nose to his lips. Oh, his lips are the perfect size for his face. You could tell he has soft and smooth lips just by staring at them,
"I could do this all day if I continue like this," Sarah said as she tried removing her gaze from him before it became too obvious she had been staring at his face.
Bryan walked up to the table.
"Good evening Sarah", Bryan said to Sarah.
"Good evening Bryan, you have kept me waiting for over an hour now," Sarah said
"Oh, I have been occupied, that's why, and I am sorry about that also; why did you not order anything?" Bryan asked.
"What a way to change the topic," Sarah murmured to herself.
"Well, I am not just in the mood for food or drinks, that's why," Sarah said.
"Okay no problem. Well, I called you here so we can decide on my terms," Bryan said.
"Your terms?" Sarah asked.
"Yes, my terms," Bryan replied.
His countenance gave it away that he was serious, and by now, his eyes were darkened.
"Well, yes, my terms, and they are simple: if we are going to get married, I know we are forced to marry each other, and I want to make sure we are both on the same page," Bryan said as he looked at Sarah and faked a smile.
"Okay...I'm all ears" Sarah said.
"Okay, it's simple: you live your life, and I live mine, nothing attached; firstly, you're not my type; I like my girls slim, pretty, and tal...
"Excuse me?" Said Sarah as she interrupted Bryan while talking,
"What do u mean by that? You can go straight to the point without having to insult me, Bryan, and also, I am not sure if I would want to sit here any longer and listen to your bullshit." She said as she stood up from her seat and was about to pick up her purse to leave.
Bryan held her hands and told her to please sit down.
"I said sit down!" Said Bryan as he spoke to Sarah authoritatively,"
While still holding her hand, he knew he might scare her more if he continued in that tone, so he let go of her hands and apologized to her.
"Okay, see I'm sorry but I'm just trying to be as honest as I can be. Please sit down, let's continue this conversation," said Bryan.
"Well, I will sit down only because I want to hear all that you have to say and not because you asked me to and let's be clear, one more insult from you, and I'm out of here," said Sarah as she sat down back but all the happiness in her has disappeared just like spraying a fake perfume on yourself, and you realize the smell disappears as soon as you spray them.
"Okay, okay, I won't use those words again, it's not like you like me or something, and neither do I too. See it might have come out wrong i but I didn't mean to insult you. All I want is us to be clear of our boundaries when we get married and here are my terms:
"You will need to come to terms with the idea that even if we get married next month here, we will still live our separate lives, but we will only put out a front when we are in public or in front of our parents. I will give you your respect as far as you do same to me. My friends are not your friends. I will always have girls over you know, we will only have s*x when you ovulating just so we can try to procreate and at least give them the grandchildren they so wish to have and in exchange for this you get to live your life as you please too without interfering into each others lives. I hope that was clear enough even to where I didn't need to explain to." Bryan said
Sarah just sat there listening to him in disbelief, could not believe everything she had just heard; she contemplated pouring the water in her glass cup that they served her on him or smashing the cup on him, but either way, he would learn how to talk to a woman properly.
Even though she would love to try that, It was not just a good idea.
Refusing, but to what end?
She asked herself as she looked at Bryan, who awaited her answer.
It's not a love marriage, and it's never going to be one, so why would she make a fuss over it when she can as well live her life, too, even though that was not how she planned to live her life as a married woman, but if that's the way he wants it then no arguing about it. "But how long will all this take all because she wants to save her dad's company," "when will it end?" Sarah questioned herself.
"Okay deal, anything else?" Sarah asked Bryan.
"Oh yeah, my dad said you will have to sign a prenup," said Bryan as he put the paper on the table.
"Okay, I will go through them when I get home and send them to you tomorrow when I sign on them." Said sarah.
"f**k, I thought she would desperately sign them now, and me asking her to do that now will only raise suspicion; I don't think she's that wise to see through the bullshit written there, so let her take it home." Bryan thought to himself.
"Yeah, sure, you can do that, and oh Sarah, I hope you understand all I have been saying earlier, and I hope you picked no offense to what I said too; I just want us to be happy when we get together, that's all, and with that been said I will see you around Sarah." Said Bryan as he stood up from his seat, took Sarah's right hand from where she placed it on the table, kissed her hands, told her to have a great night, and walked away smiling.
I can't believe I fell for his niceness yesterday; he was all calm and collected; he spoke with so much softness, and now he just proved how much of a monster he's going to be to me." Sarah thought to herself as she stood up from her seat and walked out of the restaurant and straight into her car parked outside.
When she got inside her car she spoke to her driver,
"Larry, I know how much you mean to my father, and I know how much respect you have for him and also how loyal you are to him; I retained you even after his death because I know how valuable you are to him, and I hope I can count on you as well, Larry," Sarah said to her driver
Larry knew Sarah was going to ask for a favor, and he would never turn her down because, just as her father meant so much to him, he promised to look after her and her siblings as well, and he would do anything they asked of him for them.
"Yes, ma, you can always count on me, ma; what do you need me to do for you, ma?" asked Larry.
"I need you to help me get a discreet lawyer to look into this prenup for me. I don't want to use mine because I don't trust them too well to get the job done." She said as she gave the envelope to Larry.
"Please make sure nobody knows I gave you this and also, as quietly and fast as you can, I need them tomorrow." Sarah continued.
"Trust me to do just that, ma, "Larry said while collecting the envelope.
"Thanks, Larry," said Sarah.
"I think the problem with Bryan is that he belittled me and thought I was a yes sir, kind of girl, little did he know that I can see through his nonsense and I don't need to worry much because he fails to realize that I'm not just an equal match, but I will beat him at his own game, you just watch and see Bryan," she thought to herself as her driver drove off.
